<p>Dr. Kim attended the prestigious Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He subsequently completed his orthopaedic internship and residency at Northwestern University. Following his residency, he participated in the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York where he was awarded the Philip D. Wilson Award for Outstanding Fellowship Research.</p>
<p>Dr. Kim is Chief of the Arthroplasty Service at Montefiore Medical Center and the Clinical Director of the Joint Replacement Center. Dr. Kim is well published, and a recognized expert in his field. His interests include minimally invasive hip and knee surgery, primary and complex joint reconstruction. He is fluent in both Spanish, and Korean.</p>
<p>He is an active member of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Korean American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).</p>
<p>In addition to the Philip D. Wilson Award for Outstanding Fellowship Research, Dr. Kim has earned the Attending of the Year Award in 2007 and 2011, the Patients' Choice Award from 2008 through 2011, and Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2010 and 2011.</p>

<p></p>As Chief of Adult Reconstruction at Montefiore, Sun Jin Kim, MD, specializes in adult reconstruction, primary and revision hip and knee replacements, nonoperative management of hip and knee arthritis. He is well versed in patient-specific technology, minimally invasive approaches, and blood-conserving surgical options. He also serves as an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.<br /><br />Dr. Kim received his medical degree from the prestigious Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
