Ana Y. Valdivia
<p>Ana Y. Valdivia, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Diagnostic Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Valdivia’s clinical focus involves all aspects of nuclear medicine, with a particular focus on positron emission tomography–computed tomography (PET-CT).</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico in 1990, Dr. Valdivia attended Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 1994. She completed her internal medicine residency at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1997, followed by her nuclear medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 1999.</p><p>Dr. Valdivia’s research involves PET-CT, frequently focusing on brain imaging. She has shared her research through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts, exhibits, and oral and poster presentations. She is also an invited reviewer for the International Journal of Surgery.</p><p>Dr. Valdivia is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine. She is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the American College of Radiology.</p>

Amira M. Mohamed
Amira Mohamed completed her medical school education in Khartoum, Sudan before moving to the United States. She completed an internal medicine residency and sub-specialized in Critical Care Medicine after which she joined Montefiore Medical Center in 2019.<br />Dr. Mohamed became involved in the medical education of both internal medicine residents and critical care medicine fellows soon after joining Montefiore and was appointed the Associate Program Director of the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program in early 2021. She rebuilt the fellow curriculum and strengthened their involvement in non-clinical duties such as research and quality improvement. She became the Program Director in 2022.<br />Outside of medical education, Dr. Mohamed is the Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Moses campus and her research interests include vaccine effectiveness and healthcare disparities.
Amira Mohamed is an intensivist with a specific interest in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and respiratory failure. As the Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Moses campus, she is involved in multiple quality improvement projects such as ventilator liberation with spontaneous awakening and breathing trials and measures to decrease Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections.<br />As an intensivist and a clinical educator, Dr. Mohamed's focus has been on resident and fellow education. She has contributed to the recent changes in the Critical Care Curriculum with a renewed focus on research and quality improvement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Mohamed joined the ICY network in a CDC-funded study of vaccine effectiveness and has published multiple studies on this topic.

He completed his residency training in urology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and he obtained fellowship training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Montefiore and Einstein. Dr. Maria's practice includes the treatment of patients with all forms of urologic disease. Dr. Maria has a particular interest in the treatment of male sexual dysfunction.</span></p>

<p>Franklin C. Lowe, MD, Professor of Urology and Vice-Chair of the Department, is also Director of Urologic Services, Jack D. Weiler Hospital. An expert in the treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the prostate, Dr. Lowe has published over 150 articles on multiple urological topics and has lectured extensively throughout the world. Prior to joining The Department of Urology at Montefiore, Dr. Lowe held faculty and leadership positions at Columbia University, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and at St. Luke’s/ Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. A Graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Lowe obtained both his Medical and Masters of Public Health degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his internship and residency in Surgery and Urology at The James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Lowe previously served as the Chairman of The American Urological Association’s Alternative Medicine Committee and as a member of the BPH Guidelines Committee.</p>
Nicole A. Hayde
<p>Nicole Hayde, MD, MS, is a pediatric nephrologist at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM), Medical Director, Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program, Associate Director, Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Hayde’s clinical focus is pediatric renal transplantation, with a particular interest in the role of antibodies in allograft injury.</p><p>After earning her Doctor of Medicine from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in 2003, Dr. Hayde completed her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami in 2009. She went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric nephrology at CHAM in 2012. During her fellowship, she was also enrolled in the clinical research training program at Einstein, earning her Master of Science in clinical research methods in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Hayde’s research focus is on the role of donor-specific antibodies in pediatric kidney transplantation and methods to decrease antibody mediated injury. Her findings have been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and have been shared through book chapters, posters and presentations. She is on the editorial board of Frontiers in Pediatrics and is a peer reviewer for several journals including Transplantation, Pediatric Transplantation and Human Immunology. She also serves as a research mentor for fellows interested in kidney transplant research.</p><p>Dr. Hayde is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. She has several national roles including the associate councilor of region 9 of United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) and the executive committee of the pediatric community of practice of the American Society of Transplantation. She is also a member of several professional organizations including the ASPN and the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.</p>

<p>Stanley H. Boczko, MD, Assistant Professor of Urology, an expert in general urologic care and the treatment of all forms of urological disorders, joined Montefiore in 2016. Dr. Boczko currently serves as an Attending Physician in Urology at Montefiore and as a Clinical Instructor of Urology at Einstein. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The City College of New York. After earning his medical degree from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Boczko completed his internship and residence training in Surgery and Urology at Montefiore. Under the auspices of the American Cancer Society, Dr. Boczko obtained fellowship training in renal transplantation, microsurgery, and hemodialysis access and later he was the recipient of the F.C Valentine Essay Contest in Urology Award in Clinical Urology. Dr. Boczko is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Clinical Urologists. In recent years he has been chosen by several prestigious publications such as New York Magazine as one of the best doctors in the New York Metro Area. He is fluent in Hebrew, Yiddish and Spanish.</p>
