Audrey M. Uong
Dr. Uong's clinical focus has been in pediatrics.
The care of hospitalized pediatric patients with asthma has been a main focus of research for Dr. Uong. She is also interested in researching the improvement of transitions of care in hospitalized pediatric patients.
<p>Audrey M. Uong, MD, is an Attending Physician, Division of Hospital Medicine at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team in 2019, her clinical focus has been in pediatrics.</p><p>In 2008, Dr. Uong received her Bachelor of Arts in Asian Languages and Civilizations from Amherst College. Her studies continued at New York Medical College, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. Following this, Dr. Uong continued her studies at Albert Einstein Medical College and received her Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods in 2019. She began her postgraduate training in 2014 with a 3-year internship and residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at CHAM in 2019.</p><p>The care of hospitalized pediatric patients with asthma has been a main focus of research for Dr. Uong. She is also interested in researching the improvement of transitions of care in hospitalized pediatric patients. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and review articles, and has been presented nationally.</p><p>In 2019, Dr. Uong received the CHAM Research Day Oral Presentation Award, given to her from faculty judges for receiving top scores. Dr. Uong is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association.</p>
Alecia M. Thompson
Dr. Thompson-Branch's research has focused on the role of cytokines in bronchopulmonary dysplasia and use of ultrasound to diagnose necrotizing enterocolitis.
<p>With an emphasis on general pediatrics and neonatology, Dr. Thompson completed her residency at NYU Medical Center in 2007 and fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2010. During her fellowship, Dr. Thompson also audited the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program, with an interest in performing clinical research. Her research has focused on the role of cytokines in bronchopulmonary dysplasia and use of ultrasound to diagnose necrotizing enterocolitis. She plans to conduct research on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy to delineate central nervous system pathology in preterm infants and predict short-term neurologic outcomes.</p>
Adit L. Tal
<p>Adit Tal, MD, is an Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Marrow and Blood Cell Transplantation at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, Dr. Tal’s clinical focus has been the treatment of pediatric leukemia and lymphoma, and the supportive care of children with cancer.</p><p>Dr. Tal received her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in 2008, followed by her Doctorate of Medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine. She began her postgraduate training in 2013 at CHAM and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, following her Pediatrics residency with a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship.</p><p>Building on her clinical practices, Dr. Tal’s research focuses on novel therapeutic targets for advanced treatments in metastatic osteosarcoma. She is examining a signaling pathway crucial to bone development and differentiation, and targeting this pathway to treat osteosarcoma. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed articles.</p><p>Dr. Tal is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of many professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Children’s Oncology Group, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is also a member of the Professional Development Committee with the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and is a volunteer pediatric oncologist at Happiness Is Camping, a residential camp for children with cancer and their families.</p>

Courtney A. McNamara
<p>Courtney McNamara, MD, is Associate Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on pediatric hospital medicine, with a particular interest in resident education and mentorship.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. McNamara received her Bachelor of Science at James Madison University. She pursued her medical education at New York Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2010. She then came to CHAM for her postgraduate training, completing her pediatric residency in 2013.</p><p>Dr. McNamara’s research focuses on improving the patient experience. She is a co-investigator in a grant funded project investigating communication with hospitalized patients with limited English proficiency, and her body of research includes quality improvement research studies focused on improving inpatient pediatric comfort and decreasing painful experiences. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and platform presentations.</p><p>Dr. McNamara is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2023, Dr. McNamara was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society.</p>

Allison M. Martin
<p>Allison M. Martin, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Microbiology and Immunology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Martin’s clinical focus centers on pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors.</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in biology from Bryn Mawr College in 2001, Dr. Martin earned her Doctor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College in 2007. She completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 2010, followed by a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health in 2013. Following this, Dr. Martin completed an additional fellowship in pediatric neuro-oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2014.</p><p>Dr. Martin’s research focuses on high-risk group 3 and refractory medulloblastoma. Her research program focuses on uncovering new ways to harness the immune system to treat this disease. Her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, case reports and invited talks and panels. She has also been principal investigator and co-investigator on several funded research projects and is a reviewer for <em>Cancers</em>.</p><p>Dr. Martin is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. She is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) and the Society of Immunotherapy and Cancer (SITC). In 2021, Dr. Martin received the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellows Teaching Award from the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein. She was named a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly in 2024.</p>
Adam S. Levy
<p>Dr. Levy, Director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, was the principal investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group, the nation's largest consortium of childhood cancer researchers, and currently leads an international clinical trial for children with recurrent brain tumors. Dr. Levy’s clinical interests focus on brain tumors, particularly new drugs and treatment plans for children with brain tumors.</p>
<p>As Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Levy also has a strong interest in medical education. He is director of the pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training program, and he is chair of the Committee on Graduate Medical Education.</p>
<p>After graduating from Cornell University, Dr. Levy received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He was a Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he received the Department of Pediatrics Resident Clinician-Teacher Award. He then completed his fellowship and was Chief Fellow in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he received the Charles Trobman Memorial Award. He was nominated Attending Physician of the Year in Pediatrics at NYU Medical Center before joining Montefiore and Einstein. In 2007 he received a Children’s Tumor Foundation Humanitarian Award for his care of children with tumors associated with neurofibromatosis, and in 2011 he was elected to the Society for Pediatric Research. </p>

<p>Dr. Levy practices general pediatric hematology-oncology with a focus on tumors of the brain and spine. Dr. Levy’s current research interests concern the use of new drugs and treatment plans for children with cancer.</p>
<p>Adam Levy, MD, is a Clinical Professor who works per diem at Montefiore Einstein in the trainee’s clinic. He specializes in general pediatric hematology and oncology, with a focus on tumors of the brain and spine, solid tumors and tumors associated with neurofibromatosis.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Science at Cornell University, Dr. Levy earned his Doctor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine. Following this, he completed training in pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and became Chief Resident. Dr. Levy then completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and New York Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he served as Chief Fellow.</p><p>Dr. Levy’s early research training in a transitional science laboratory focused on mechanisms and pathways explaining tumor cell chemotherapy resistance. He was the principal investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group, the nation's largest consortium of childhood cancer researchers, and currently leads an international clinical trial for children with recurrent brain tumors. As a clinical investigator, his current research focuses on using new drugs and treatment plans for pediatric cancer patients. He has studied and published ways to improve clinical care of patients, mentorship in pediatric oncology, communication skills training and burnout amongst clinicians. He has been an invited presenter on these topics nationally.</p><p>Dr. Levy is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research, and his efforts have been recognized numerous times as a New York Magazine Top Doctor. He has also won many awards, including the Children’s Tumor Foundation Humanitarian Award, The Davidoff Society Education Award and the Charles Trobman Memorial Award.</p>
