<p>Rodney L. Wright, MD, MSc, is Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wakefield Campus at Montefiore and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women&rsquo;s Health, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Wright&rsquo;s clinical interests include HIV during pregnancy, infectious diseases, sexually transmitted infections, global women&rsquo;s health and maternal fetal medicine.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology from Emory University, Dr. Wright went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. His post graduate training began at the University of California, Irvine, where he completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Several years later, Dr. Wright pursued a three-year fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Montefiore-Einstein. After completing this, he continued his education at Einstein, earning his Master of Science in clinical research methods.</p><p>Following his clinical interests, Dr. Wright&rsquo;s research focuses on HIV during pregnancy, prevention of perinatal HIV transmission, cervical dysplasia, HPV and global women&rsquo;s health. He&rsquo;s shared his research and expertise through many peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and invited presentations. He currently serves on the US Department of Health and Human Services Panel on Treatment of Pregnant Women with HIV Infection and Prevention of Perinatal Transmission.</p><p>An active member within the community, Dr. Wright is a member of the New York State AIDS Advisory Council and the New York State Taskforce on Maternal Mortality. He was awarded the Bronx County Medical Society &ldquo;Peer to Peer&rdquo; Excellence in Medicine Award. Dr. Wright received the New York State Commissioner of Health Commissioner&rsquo;s Special Recognition Award in recognition of his work as co-chair of the New York State Perinatal HIV Guidelines Committee and service to the New York State Ending the Epidemic (AIDS) Task Force. Dr. Wright is board certified in both Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of several professional organizations including the New York Obstetrical Society, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.</p>

<p>Audrey M. Uong, MD, is an Attending Physician, Division of Hospital Medicine at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team in 2019, her clinical focus has been in pediatrics.</p><p>In 2008, Dr. Uong received her Bachelor of Arts in Asian Languages and Civilizations from Amherst College. Her studies continued at New York Medical College, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. Following this, Dr. Uong continued her studies at Albert Einstein Medical College and received her Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods in 2019. She began her postgraduate training in 2014 with a 3-year internship and residency at Cohen Children&rsquo;s Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at CHAM in 2019.</p><p>The care of hospitalized pediatric patients with asthma has been a main focus of research for Dr. Uong. She is also interested in researching the improvement of transitions of care in hospitalized pediatric patients. <p class="MsoNormal">Theresa Serra, MD, joined the CHAM hospitalist division in 2014 after working as a pediatric hospitalist at New York Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. Her interests include clinical research and medical education. She has conducted an IRB approved retrospective chart review examining readmission rates in pediatric patients diagnosed with osteomyelitis. Dr. Serra is currently developing a medical Spanish curriculum for faculty members in order to improve communication between patients, families and providers. Along with Courtney McNamara, MD, Dr. Serra is a co-leader of a multidisciplinary committee dedicated to standardizing and improving quality of care for patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of failure to thrive. Dr. Serra is also working on an initiative to identify vaccine delinquency in the inpatient setting through the use of SMART reports.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Serra is also collaborating with Lindsey Douglas, MD, MSCR, in an IRB approved quality improvement (QI) project to improve transition-of-care communication between hospitalists and primary care providers and to facilitate the establishment of medical homes. Dr. Serra is also a member of a subcommittee that leads monthly journal clubs/case conferences for pediatric hospitalists.</p>

<p>Katherine O&rsquo;Connor, MD, is an Associate Director in the Division of Hospital Medicine and an Attending Pediatric Hospitalist at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. O&rsquo;Connor joined Montefiore in 2007.</p><p>Dr. O&rsquo;Connor received her Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience in 1999 from Harvard University. In 2003, she received her Medical Doctorate from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. <p>Morri Markowitz, MD, is Director, Lead Poisoning Prevention and Treatment Program and Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Markowitz's clinical interest is in providing treatment for lead poisoning, focusing on care to children and pregnant and lactating women. He also cares for children with bone mineral metabolism problems.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Illinois in 1970, Dr. Markowitz earned his Doctor of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein in 1974. He remained at Montefiore to continue his medical training, completing his pediatrics residency in 1978 where he was Chief Resident in his final year, followed by a clinical research fellowship in pediatric endocrinology/metabolism in 1981. Following this, Dr. Markowitz completed an additional pediatric metabolism fellowship at Montefiore in 1982.</p><p>Dr. Markowitz&rsquo;s research assesses diagnostic and treatment modalities in lead-poisoned children. He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agency-funded research projects, and he has shared his work through numerous peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations.</p><p>Dr. Markowitz is board certified in General Pediatrics. He has been a member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Pediatric Research and the American Society for Bone &amp; Mineral Research, among others. Dr. Markowitz received the Master Teacher Award from Montefiore in 2003, and was named a Fullbright Scholar Specialist in 2004.</p>
