<p>Dr. Wahezi attended medical school at the University of Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, where she stayed on as the inaugural fellow in Pediatric Rheumatology. She subsequently joined the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at Montefiore and completed a Master&rsquo;s Degree in clinical research through the Einstein-Montefiore Institute for Clinical and Translational Research Program. Dr. Wahezi is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serves as the Program Director of the Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Wahezi has a special interest in juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) and was awarded the Cure JM Foundation Early Investigator Award for her research in premature atherosclerosis. She has additionally established a pediatric Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Cohort and participates in a dedicated, multi-disciplinary pediatric Lupus Nephritis Clinic. Dr. Wahezi is currently engaged in several research projects within the domains of JDM and SLE, contributing to over 40 peer reviewed manuscripts, reviews and scientific abstracts.</p>
<p>Dr. Wahezi is an active member of both the JDM subcommittee and SLE subcommittee within the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and has participated in numerous observational and comparative&nbsp;effectiveness research protocols through this research consortium. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Tamara I. Tanner, MD, is Assistant Director of the Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program and an attending physician of pediatric rheumatology at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM). She is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p>Dr. Tanner earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1999 at University of Bucharest, Romania. After completing her Master of Arts at Yeshiva University in New York in 2009 and post-baccalaureate premedical courses at Hunter College in 2010, Dr. Tanner attended New York Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She pursued her postdoctoral training at CHAM, completing a three-year pediatric residency in 2017 followed by a three year pediatric rheumatology fellowship in 2020.<br /><br />Dr. Tanner&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of children with complex rheumatologic diseases including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile dermatomyositis, vasculitis, scleroderma and periodic fever syndromes. In addition to her strong background in medical education, she has a research focus on risk factors for lupus flares, as well as investigations in macrophage activation syndrome. Dr. Tanner is board certified in general pediatrics, and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance. In 2020, Dr. Tanner was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society in recognition of her outstanding achievement in teaching medical students.<p> </p>

<p>Dr. Goilav is a pediatric nephrologist who is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. Her research interest is in lupus nephritis. <p>Bijal Amin, MD,&nbsp;Associate Professor of Pathology and Internal Medicine, serves as the Director of the Dermatopathology and Program Director of the&nbsp;Dermatopathology Fellowship at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Amin&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the study of tissue to diagnose inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the skin.</p><p>Dr. Amin matriculated from the prestigious accelerated BA/MD program at the George Washington University School of Medicine. She started her postdoctoral training with an internship in internal medicine at University of Washington. She then went to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology from 2004 to 2008, acting as chief resident in pathology in her final year. In 2009, she completed a yearlong dermatopathology fellowship through a joint program with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. In 2020, she completed the Healthcare Information Technology certificate program at Columbia University.&nbsp;</p><p>Dr. Amin&rsquo;s research focus follows her clinical interests in dermatopathology.
