<p>Leandro Slipczuk Bustamante, MD, PhD, FACC is a board certified cardiologist,&nbsp; Director of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Program and the Cardiovascular Atherosclerosis and Lipid Disorder Center at Montefiore Cardiology Division. Additionally, Dr. Slipczuk is an Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is the treatment of coronary artery disease, familial hypercholesterolemia and lipid disorders in both prevention and established diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, hypertension, valvular heart disease and heart failure with a comprehensive clinical and multimodality imaging approach.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Slipczuk received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. He continued studying at this institution, and in 2010 received his Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Slipczuk began his postgraduate training with a residency in internal medicine at Einstein Medical Center, which he completed in 2013. He then completed a fellowship in cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging in 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.</p><p>Dr. Slipczuk&rsquo;s research focus is on the identification of high-risk patients and plaque features, lipid disorders, cardiovascular imaging and valvular heart disease. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and articles.</p><p>Dr. Slipczuk is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in cardiovascular CT, comprehensive adult echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Sims is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA), and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Originally from Bellmore, NY, Dr. Sims graduated from Yale University with a BA in history in 1999. He attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, graduating in 2003. He stayed at Emory for his 3-year internal medicine internship and residency training, finishing in 2006. He was selected to stay an additional one year to serve as the chief resident at the Emory University Hospital. Dr. Sims did his 3-year cardiology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and served as chief cardiology fellow during his final year, finishing in 2010. He completed an additional one-year advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at Columbia in 2011. Dr. Sims returned to Emory to serve on the cardiology faculty and as a member of the Center for Heart Failure Therapy and Transplantation.</p>

Dr. Sims served 2 2-year terms as a member of the AHA&rsquo;s Acute Cardiac Care Committee and has been a member of the AHA writing groups for scientific statements on neuroprognostication after cardiac arrest, management of fulminant myocarditis, the prevention of complications in the CICU, and escalating and de-escalating temporary mechanical circulatory support devices. <p>Jooyoung Julia Shin, MD, is Fellowship Director, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Program and Associate Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shin&rsquo;s clinical focus centers on heart failure, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1994, Dr. Shin earned her Doctor of Medicine at George Washington University in 1999. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland in 2002 before completing a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Emory University in 2005. Following this, Dr. Shin remained at Emory to complete an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology in 2006.</p><p>Dr. Shin&rsquo;s research focuses on fellow education. She has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on several funded research projects, and she has presented at invited lectures nationwide. Biography

<p>Ariel L Shiloh, MD, is Director, Critical Care Consult Services, Professor, Medicine and Associate Professor, Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shiloh&rsquo;s clinical interests include the early detection and treatment of critical illness, point-of-care ultrasonography for the evaluation of critical illness and advanced airway management.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, Dr. Shiloh attended the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University, Be&rsquo;er Sheva, Israel, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2005. He came to Montefiore for his postdoctoral training, completing his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2008, followed by his fellowship in critical care medicine in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh's research includes the clinical use of point-of-care ultrasonography in critical illness, improvement of airway management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations, books, abstracts and poster presentations at national conferences. He has also been a reviewer for several journals including <em>Chest</em>, the <em>American Journal of Critical Care</em> and the <em>European Journal of Anesthesiology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care and Hospice &amp; Palliative Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Shiloh has been recognized by the American College of Chest Physicians as a Distinguished CHEST Educator, among the top 5% of CHEST&rsquo;s international faculty recognized for long-term contributions to the design and delivery of CHEST education</p>
