<p>Eugene Palatulan, MD, MA, is a sports medicine attending physician and Assistant Professor at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Palatulan&rsquo;s clinical focus is in treating musculoskeletal injuries of adolescents and adults of all levels of fitness and ability. He has particular interest in ultrasound-guided interventions and other available interventions for the treatment of musculoskeletal joint and tendinopathy pain.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College in 2005 and his Master of Arts at Columbia University in 2006, Dr. Palatulan spent several years in education, teaching high school biology in Bronx public high schools. He then pursued his medical education, first completing his post-baccalaureate with State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013, then pursuing his Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, earning his medical degree in 2017. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at NewYork-Presbyterian&ndash;Columbia/Cornell in 2021, and his sports medicine fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2022. <p>Mauricio Drummond Jr., MD, is an attending surgeon and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics and Orthopedic Surgery at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. His interests include pediatric orthopedic surgery, complex pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, ACL, PCL and multiligament knee injuries, discoid meniscus, meniscus transplantation, patellofemoral instability, trochlear dysplasia, cartilage preservation and pediatric trauma and limb deformities.</p><p>In 1996, Dr. Drummond earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He completed his residency training at the same institution, and practiced as a knee specialist for more than 13 years in Brazil. In 2018, he came to the United States, completing an orthopedic surgery research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2019 and an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2020. <p>Jeffrey Weiss, MD is a senior clinician-executive who has taken on progressive leadership positions at Montefiore Health System. Dr. Weiss earned a bachelor of science in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, a medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine, and the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Montefiore, where he was chief resident.</p>
<p>In 2007, Dr. Weiss was named Institutional Medical Director for Montefiore Health System. His role is to help optimize the performance of the Montefiore health delivery network by ensuring a smooth interface between its various components - the doctors, hospital, medical group, home health agency, nursing homes, and the CMO. Dr. Weiss's responsibilities included leadership of nationally recognized patient safety, quality and peer review programs, management of a medical staff with 3,500 employed and voluntary physicians, supervision of GME activities for 1,200 residents in the second largest house staff program in the country, all under the coordinated umbrella of the "Office of the Medical Director" (OMD). As part of a restructuring of organizational clinical leadership in 2012, Dr. Weiss was named Vice President for Medical Affairs. In this role, he has retained many of his previous responsibilities, and is now leading a team of five newly appointed hospital medical directors in driving physician alignment and creating a horizontally integrated approach to quality and clinical performance across the system.</p>

<p>Stanley F. Wainapel, MD, MPH, is Clinical Director, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore, and Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During this time, he also attended Boston University School of Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1970. He began his postgraduate training in 1970 with a year-long internship in medicine at Genessee Hospital, followed by a residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which he completed in 1974. In 1982, Dr. Wainapel his Master of Public Health in 1989 from Boston University.</p><p>Vision rehabilitation, the history of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, physical disabilities among physicians, and bioethics are the main focuses of Dr. Wainapel&rsquo;s research.
