<p>Natalia Vasquez Canizares, MD, MS, is an Attending Physician of Pediatric Rheumatology at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.</p>Dr. Vasquez Canizares received her Doctor of Medicine at Universidad de La Sabana in Chia, Colombia, then completed medical internships at Hospital Universitario de La Samaritana in Bogota, Colombia, and Hospital Universitario Austral in Pilar, Argentina. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at Cooper University Hospital and did her Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship at CHAM. She also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.<br /><br />Dr. Vasquez Canizares&rsquo;s clinical focus is on pediatric rheumatic diseases, with a particular interest in children with juvenile scleroderma. She is an active member of the scleroderma work group within the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA), a collaborator with the Pediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS) in scleroderma-related research and a recipient of two grants from CARRA and the Arthritis Foundation to study treatment therapies and outcome measures in juvenile scleroderma. She is board certified and a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the American Medical Association and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance.<p> </p>

<p>Andrew Telzak, MD, MSc, is an attending physician and Director, New York City Research and Improvement Networking Group (NYC RING) at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Family and Social Medicine and Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Telzak&rsquo;s clinical focus is on providing comprehensive, high-quality primary care to families and communities. He has expertise in providing complex care coordination for patients with both medical and social needs.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in public health studies from The Johns Hopkins University in 2008, Dr. Telzak earned his Doctor of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein in 2016. He remained at this institution to complete his family medicine residency in 2019, where he was a Chief Resident in his final year. Following this, Dr. Telzak earned his Master of Science in clinical research methods at Montefiore Einstein in 2021 and completed a population health fellowship the same year.</p><p>Dr. Telzak&rsquo;s research focuses on the intersection of social determinants of health and clinical outcomes for patients with chronic illnesses. He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on several grant-supported research projects and has shared his work through numerous peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, posters, book chapters and invited presentations. <p>Dr. Hina J. Talib, a Brown University&nbsp;<em>summa cum laude</em>&nbsp;graduate, earned her&nbsp;<em>Bachelor of Science</em>&nbsp;in Neuroscience. She attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College, NY where she served as vice-president of her class. She completed her Pediatrics Residency at New York Presbyterian- Weill Cornell and her Chief Residency in Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.</p>
<p>Dr. Talib completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine in June 2013 at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Talib joined CHAM as Assistant Medical Director for the Michael I. Cohen, MD Adolescent Inpatient Floor where she serves as a teaching hospitalist and chaired the Quality Improvement Committee. In 2015, Dr. Talib was appointed as Associate Director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Training Program. In 2018, Dr. Talib was appointed Medical Director of the Adolescent Inpatient floor.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In addition to providing outpatient sub-specialty care at CHAM, Dr. Talib also cared for youth in foster care at the Children's Aid Society's Bronx Family Health Center. Dr. Talib offers Nexplanon dermal implants, as a method of long acting hormonal contraception, for teen pregnancy prevention at both sites. Her clinical interests include adolescent health, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, contraception, mental health, care of children in foster care, and care of the hospitalized adolescent.</p>
<p>Dr. Talib is board-certified in Pediatrics and in Adolescent Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and a member of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) and the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG). She serves as Associate Editor of the <em>Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology</em>, the official journal of NASPAG, and as a co-chair of the NASPAG resident education committee. In addition, Dr. Talib is a recent past President of the Executive Board of the New York chapter of SAHM.</p>

<p>Eloy Dario Tabeayo Alvarez, MD, is an attending physician in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Tabeayo Alvarez&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the treatment of hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder injuries.</p><p>He began his medical education in Spain. After earning his Bachelor degree from Instituto Rosal&iacute;a de Castro, Dr. Tabeayo Alvarez attended Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2011. He continued with medical training in Spain, completing a six-year residency in orthopedic surgery at Hospital Universitario La Paz, Madrid, in 2017. He then came to the United States for further postdoctoral training, completing a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at The Hand Center in 2018, a shoulder and elbow fellowship at Montefiore in 2019 and an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Tabeayo Alvarez&rsquo;s research focuses on rotator cuff pathology and outcomes of shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy. Her clinical focus centers on primary care internal medicine.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Dr. Swiderski attended Columbia University, earning her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies followed by her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Swiderski came to Einstein to complete her internship and residency in internal medicine. She continued her medical education, completing a certificate in Bioethics at New York University/Montefiore Medical Center, as well as a certificate as a Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) Trainer from Northwestern University.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Swiderski&rsquo;s research interests include communication skills, end-of-life care, health disparities and Bioethics. These are synthesized in her work leading the Serious Illness Conversation Project at Montefiore. She has been Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on a number of funded research projects, and she has given invited presentations nationally and internationally. Dr. Swiderski&rsquo;s work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, books, chapters, review articles and abstracts.
