<p>Dr. Ann Nguyen is a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist who is a clinician specialist in neonatal medicine. She obtained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her training in pediatrics at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Following an additional year as Pediatric Chief Resident, Dr. Nguyen completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Mattel Children&rsquo;s Hospital, UCLA Medical Center. <p>Julia Karinsky, MD, is a pediatric hospitalist at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus centers on newborn baby care and breastfeeding medicine. Dr. Karinsky believes pediatric hospitalists have a unique opportunity to provide encouragement and education early on to promote sustained breastfeeding.</p><p>After earning her Doctor of Medicine at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, in 2006, Dr. Karinsky completed her Pediatric Residency at Edmond and Lily Safra Children&rsquo;s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, Israel, in 2011. She then moved to the United States to complete an additional pediatric residency at Cohen Children&rsquo;s Medical Center in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Karinsky&rsquo;s research focuses on quality improvement projects designed to promote safe sleep practices, identify and overcome barriers to integrating safe sleep and breastfeeding in newborn baby care and implement a safe infant sleep and breastfeeding safety bundle.</p><p>Dr. Karinsky is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.</p>

<p>Dr. Herskovitz is Professor of Clinical Neurology and Director of the EMG Lab / Neuromuscular division. He earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical Center in 1980. He completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Neurology, followed by a Fellowship in Electromyography/Neuromuscular Disorders,&nbsp;all at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a diplomate of the ABIM, ABPN, ABEM, and ABPN-AQNM. His clinical research interests include the peripheral neuropathies, entrapment neuropathies and peripheral&nbsp;neurotoxicology. He has published on various aspects of carpal tunnel syndrome including electrophysiologic diagnosis, treatment and autonomic features, clinical features of a variety of peripheral neuropathies, and the neurotoxicology of pharmaceutical and industrial agents. Biography

<p>Steven Herskovitz, MD, is Director, Neuromuscular Medicine and Director, Electromyography (EMG) Lab at Montefiore. He is also Professor of Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Herskovitz&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the evaluation and management of all neuromuscular disorders, with a particular interest in electrodiagnostic and neuromuscular ultrasound assessment.</p><p>In 1976, Dr. Herskovitz received his Bachelor of Science in biology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then attended Cornell University Medical College, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1980. From 1980 to 1987, Dr. Herskovitz completed his postgraduate training at Montefiore. During this time, he spent his first year as a medical intern and next two years as a medical resident. In 1983, he began a three-year neurology residency, becoming Chief Resident in the final year. He ended his postgraduate training with a fellowship in Electromyography and Neuromuscular Diseases.</p><p>Expanding on his clinical focus, Dr. Herskovitz&rsquo;s research centers on clinical, electrodiagnostic and neuromuscular ultrasound assessment of neuropathies. His work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, books, review articles and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Herskovitz is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, including Added Qualification in Neuromuscular Medicine, and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.</p>

<p>Susan Duberstein, MD, is Associate Professor, Child Neurology and Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Duberstein is an epileptologist with a special interest in complex care. She is the collaborating neurologist for the Linking Individual Needs of Children with Services (LINCS) clinic, which provides a &ldquo;medical home&rdquo; and family-centered care for children with chronic illnesses, multiple conditions and medical technologies. She is also the Associate Director of the Neurocutaneous Clinic, serving children with neurofibromatosis, Sturge-Weber, tuberous sclerosis complex and other neurocutaneous conditions.</p><p>After earning her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in 2008, Dr. Duberstein completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the same institution in 2010. She then came to Montefiore Einstein to continue her medical training, completing her residency in child neurology in 2013 and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and electroencephalography (EEG) in 2014.</p><p>Dr. Duberstein's research focuses include retrospective studies on neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis complex. She is also one of the leaders of a research project investigating the clinical outcomes of autoimmune encephalopathies. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Duberstein is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with a special qualification in Child Neurology and holds a subspecialty certificate in Epilepsy. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Child Neurology Society and the American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Duberstein was elected a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society in 2022.</p>

Biography

<p>Jillian Connors, MD, FAAP, is a neonatologist and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Connors is a neonatal-perinatal medicine specialist, and in her clinical role, she cares for critically ill and preterm infants with a wide variety of acute and chronic healthcare needs.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology from Canisius College in 2007, Dr. Connors earned her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2011. She then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she completed her pediatric internship and residency in 2014 and became Chief Resident until 2015. Dr. Connors also completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at this institution in 2018.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Connors&rsquo; research focuses on quality improvement, simulation, neonatal nutrition and breastfeeding. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Connors is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the International Pediatric Simulation Society.</p>
