<p>Sun Young Oh, MD, is an Oncologist and Assistant Professor, Oncology and Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is on medical oncology and the systemic treatment of breast cancer.</p><p>In 2003, Dr. Oh completed her Doctor of Medicine at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She pursued postdoctoral training in the United States completing her internal medicine internship at Lutheran Medical Center in 2006, her internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2008 and her hematology and oncology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Oh&rsquo;s research follows her clinical focus and has been shared through publication in peer-reviewed journals.</p><p>Dr. Oh is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. <p>Dr. Shadi Nahvi is Professor (with tenure) in the Departments of Medicine and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and directs the General Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine Fellowship Programs.&nbsp; Her research focuses on optimizing quality of life and health outcomes among persons with substance use disorder.</p>
<p>Dr. Nahvi&rsquo;s research is grounded in nearly two decades of clinical experience as a primary care physician caring for persons with opioid and other substance use disorders. Her primary research focus is optimizing the efficacy and delivery of tobacco cessation treatments among persons with co-occurring substance use disorders. Currently, she is Principal Investigator of a NIDA R01-funded randomized, 2 x 2 factorial trial of directly observed and long-term varenicline treatment among smokers with opioid use disorder. She has also led a KL2 Career Development Award-funded, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot trial of varenicline for smoking cessation among smokers with co-morbid substance use disorder, a study of health system-level interventions to increase documentation and treatment of tobacco use among substance use disorder counselors, and a randomized trial of the efficacy of directly observed varenicline provided at a methadone clinic for promoting smoking cessation and enhancing adherence.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Nahvi graduated from the Brown University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed residency training in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Bellevue Hospital and New York University Medical Center in 2004.  She then joined the faculty in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Division of Substance Abuse as the Medical Director of an opioid treatment program.</p>
<p>Dr. Nahvi has served on numerous national advisory committees, including serving as a member of the NY State Department of Health AIDS Institute’s Guideline Committee for the Care of Substance Users and a Steering Committee member of the NY State Department of Health AIDS Institute's Tobacco Cessation Improvement Campaign.</p>

<p>Vikas Mehta, MD, MPH, FACS, is the Vice Chair and an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is on the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, diseases of the salivary glands and thyroid/parathyroid disease, with a particular interest in transoral robotic surgery and minimally invasive endocrine surgery.</p><p>Dr. Mehta received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California Berkeley in 2001. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of California Irvine. Dr. Mehta completed an internship in general surgery at St. Vincent&rsquo;s Catholic Medical Center in 2007. He then completed a residency in otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 2012, he completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also attended Johns Hopkins University where he received his Master of Public Health in 2015.</p><p>Currently, Dr. Mehta is interested in researching the clinical outcomes in head and neck cancer patients, and patients with thyroid conditions, cost-effectiveness, quality of care and systems improvements. He also serves as the Quality Improvement Coordinator for the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Committee and received a green belt in Lean Six Sigma training in 2022. His previous work on a range of topics has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and books, as well as presented nationally and internationally.</p><p>Dr. Mehta is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Head and Neck Society, the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the New York Head and Neck Society.
