Biography

<p>Roberto Alejandro Sica, MD, is an Attending Physician at Montefiore and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, Dr. Sica&rsquo;s clinical focus has been on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies, immunotherapies and allogeneic stem cell transplantation, central nervous system (CNS) lymphomas and HIV, ATLL and gene therapy for malignant and nonmalignant hematologic disorders. Dr. Sica is a member of the Bone Marrow Transplant team at Montefiore.</p><p>Dr. Sica attended the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine, where he received his Medical Degree. During his time there, he also served as an instructor of immunology, virology, pharmacology, and physical diagnosis. Dr. Sica began his postgraduate training with a residency in Internal Medicine at the Carney Hospital/Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received the E. Donnall Thomas Achievement in Medicine Award for his academic performance and the Edward Jenner Innovation in Medicine Award in recognition of his innovative contributions to the design of clinical protocols and trials. Later, he completed a fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies at Stanford University. At that institution, he performed research with Dr. Sally Arai on Hodgkin's lymphoma using the Stanford-pioneered GN-BVC regimen (Gemcitabine, Vinorelbine-BCNU. Etoposide and Cyclophosphamide) which resulted in decreased toxicity and improved overall survival in patients. His work has been published in various review journals and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Sica&rsquo;s research focuses on novel cellular therapies, allogeneic bone marrow transplantation for malignant and nonmalignant hematologic disorders, and combination immunotherapy and cancer vaccine.</p><p>Dr. Sica is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.</p>

Biography

<p>Ariel L Shiloh, MD, is Director, Critical Care Consult Services, Professor, Medicine and Associate Professor, Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Shiloh&rsquo;s clinical interests include the early detection and treatment of critical illness, point-of-care ultrasonography for the evaluation of critical illness and advanced airway management.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, Dr. Shiloh attended the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University, Be&rsquo;er Sheva, Israel, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2005. He came to Montefiore for his postdoctoral training, completing his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2008, followed by his fellowship in critical care medicine in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh's research includes the clinical use of point-of-care ultrasonography in critical illness, improvement of airway management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations, books, abstracts and poster presentations at national conferences. He has also been a reviewer for several journals including <em>Chest</em>, the <em>American Journal of Critical Care</em> and the <em>European Journal of Anesthesiology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Shiloh is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care and Hospice &amp; Palliative Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. <p>Garrison Pease, MD, is an attending surgical pathologist and Assistant Professor, Pathology at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus centers on genitourinary and urologic pathology, with a focus on one-on-one teaching at the scope with residents and medical students. He is also focused on quality assurance and quality improvement with an emphasis on lab efficiency and patient-centered turn-around time.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Saint John's University (Collegeville, MN) in 2009, Dr. Pease earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2013. He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of University of Chicago - NorthShore in 2017, where he was Chief Resident in his final two years. Following this, Dr. Pease completed a general surgical pathology fellowship at Washington University &ndash; St. Louis in 2018, followed by a genitourinary pathology fellowship at the University of Washington in 2019.</p><p>Dr. Pease&rsquo;s research is focused on genitourinary and urologic pathology and quality assurance and improvement.
