Liane Eng
<p>Liane Eng, MD, is Co-Director, Pediatric Thyroid Nodule Clinic at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Course Director, Pediatric Endocrinology Elective and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Eng’s clinical focus is on thyroid disease and thyroid cancer in the pediatric population.</p><p>In 2019, Dr. Eng completed her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at New York University College of Arts and Science. She pursued her medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She started her postdoctoral training at NYU Langone Medical Center, with her residency in pediatrics from 2014 to 2017. She then came to Einstein, completing her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Eng’s research focuses on advancing knowledge in the management of thyroid cancer and post-thyroid cancer treatment. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, review articles, abstracts and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Eng is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Endocrine Society and the Pediatric Endocrine Society. In 2019, Dr. Eng was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for outstanding achievement in teaching medical students.</p>

Anthony J. Carlese
<p>Dr. Carlese is the Director of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit on the Moses campus. </p>
<p>He received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 1998.</p>
<p>Dr. Carlese is board-certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine as well as neurocritical care and Internal Medicine. He has over 10 years of experience as an intensivist, primarily in cardiothoracic Critical Care. </p>
<p>He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society, and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.</p>

<p>Anthony Carlese, DO, is Medical Director, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and Associate Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is cardiac surgery intensive care, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Villanova University in 1987, Dr. Carlese earned his Doctor of Osteopathy at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991. He then completed an internship at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in 1992. Following this, Dr. Carlese completed a categorical internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in 1995. He completed a pulmonary fellowship at Albany Medical Center in 1997 before finishing a critical care medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1998.</p><p>Dr. Carlese’s research focuses on clinical outcomes in cardiac surgery and ECMO support programs, along with the use of advanced technologies such as virtual reality devices in managing postoperative pain and delirium prevention. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, books, chapters and review articles. He has also presented his work across the country.</p><p>Dr Carlese is board certified in Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Neurocritical Care by the United Council for Neurologic Specialties. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and member of the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization.</p>
Tamar Baer
<p>Tamar G. Baer, MD, is Associate Fellowship Program Director, Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is in pediatric endocrinology, differences in sexual development, and diabetes.</p><p>After completing her Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2007 at Barnard College, Columbia University, Dr. Baer pursued her medical education at Einstein, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2011. She continued at Einstein for her internship and residency in pediatrics, completing her chief residency in 2015. She continued her postdoctoral training at Columbia University Medical Center, completing a three-year fellowship in pediatric endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism in 2018.</p><p>Dr. Baer’s research follows her clinical interest in medical education, wellbeing in medical training, pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. She has shared her research through peer-reviewed journals and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Baer is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics.</p>
