Courtney A. McNamara
<p>Courtney McNamara, MD, is Associate Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on pediatric hospital medicine, with a particular interest in resident education and mentorship.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. McNamara received her Bachelor of Science at James Madison University. She pursued her medical education at New York Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2010. She then came to CHAM for her postgraduate training, completing her pediatric residency in 2013.</p><p>Dr. McNamara’s research focuses on improving the patient experience. She is a co-investigator in a grant funded project investigating communication with hospitalized patients with limited English proficiency, and her body of research includes quality improvement research studies focused on improving inpatient pediatric comfort and decreasing painful experiences. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and platform presentations.</p><p>Dr. McNamara is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2023, Dr. McNamara was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society.</p>
Richard J. Lucariello

<p>Dr. Lucariello is a member of the Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart &Vascular Care Research Board.</p>
<p>Richard Lucariello, MD, is Clinical Director, Non-Invasive Cardiology at the Wakefield Campus of Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical interests include clinical cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.</p><p>Dr. Lucariello earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Fordham University in 1979, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 1984. He began his postdoctoral training at Westchester County Medical Center, completing a medicine internship in 1985 and a two-year medicine residency in 1987. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital & Medical Center in 1989 before returning to Westchester County Medical Center to complete a nuclear cardiology fellowship in 1990.</p><p>Following his clinical interests, Dr. Lucariello’s research focuses primarily on echocardiography. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Lucariello is actively involved in educating medical residents and cardiology fellows at the Wakefield campus, and was awarded the Program Director’s Training Award for Cardiology for the 2011–2012 academic year. He is board certified and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.</p>

<p>Samuel Gorstein, MD, is Director, Resident Education, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Gorstein’s clinical focus is on the care of critically ill infants, children and adolescents, focusing on conditions requiring intensive monitoring, life support and complex interventions, such as respiratory failure, sepsis, trauma and post-surgical recovery.
</p><p>After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics from Brown University, Dr. Gorstein attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 2009. He then began his postgraduate training with an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center from 2009 to 2012. In 2015, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. </p><p>Dr. Gorstein oversees resident education in the PICU and has developed a didactic curriculum for residents rotating through the PICU at CHAM. His research aligns with his clinical expertise, and his work has been shared through peer-reviewed publications, invited presentations, abstracts, and poster presentations at professional meetings. </p><p>Dr. Gorstein is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

John Devens Fisher
<p>Position: Dr. Fisher is Professor of Medicine at AECOM, and Director of the Einstein-Montefiore Arrhythmia Service, which includes two component services, namely Clinical Electrophysiology and Pacemakers/ICDs. The Arrhythmia Service has close ties withy CT surgery, imaging, basic EP, and pediatric EP. He is also the Training Program Director for the ACGME-accredited fellowship in clinical EP (CCEP). Education: Yale BA, Wayne State MD, Boston City Hospital and NY Hospital-Cornell (Int. Med Residency), Montefiore and Royal Postgraduate Medical School-Imperial College London UK (Cardiology and EP). Interests: Arrhythmia mechanisms and treatment, ablation, VT, VF, SVT, AF, WPW, pacemakers, ICDs, heart failure resynchronization devices, syncope. R-1006</p>
<p>All aspects of Arrhythmias, especially clinical diagnosis, decisions, and treatment. Teaching, as well as local, national, international cardiology improvements.</p>
<p>Heart rhythm abnormalities: prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Among the first electrophysiologists to develop anti-tachycardia pacing and ablation.</p>
<p>John D. Fisher, MD, is an Attending Physician, Program Director CCEP Fellowship, and an Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Montefiore and our <a href="http://www.einstein.yu.edu/faculty/7520/john-fisher/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Albert Einstein College of Medicine</a>. His clinical focus is on all aspects of arrhythmias, especially clinical diagnosis, decisions, and treatment. He is also interested in teaching local, national, and international cardiology improvements.</p><p>Dr. Fisher received his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1965. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1969 from Wayne State University School of Medicine. In 1970, Dr. Fisher completed a medical internship at Boston City Hospital Tufts Medical Service. He completed his first-year residency at Boston City Hospital, followed by a second year at New York Hospital ? Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Fisher completed three years of cardiac fellowships; the first at Montefiore, followed by a year at Hammersmith Hospital (London), and returning to Montefiore to finish his final year.</p><p>Dr. Fisher?s research focus is on heart rhythm abnormalities and their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. His work has been published in more than 500 reviewed journals and abstracts and chapters, and numerous national and international meetings.</p><p>Dr. Fisher is board certified in Medicine, Cardiology, and Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of many professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, European Society of Cardiology, and the American Medical Association. </p>
