<p>Tamara Kalhan, MD, FAAP, is Medical Director, Low Birthweight Evaluation and Assessment Program (LEAP) Clinic and Director, Neonatal Education, Wakefield Division at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Course Director, Medicine Electives in Neonatology and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on neonatal outcomes for premature infants, low birth weight infants and infants requiring extended Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hospitalizations.</p><p>Dr. Kalhan earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2009 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency in 2012 at St. Louis Children&rsquo;s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Columbia University, where she was Chief Fellow in her final year of training in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Kalhan&rsquo;s research interests and expertise include improving follow-up care and neonatal outcomes in high-risk infant populations, with an emphasis on early detection of cerebral palsy. She has been co-investigator on research projects and has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, review articles and case reports, abstracts, platform presentations and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Kalhan is board certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. <p>Nicole Hayde, MD, MS, is a pediatric nephrologist at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM), Medical Director, Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program, Associate Director, Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Hayde&rsquo;s clinical focus is pediatric renal transplantation, with a particular interest in the role of antibodies in allograft injury.</p><p>After earning her Doctor of Medicine from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in 2003, Dr. Hayde completed her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami in 2009. She went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric nephrology at CHAM in 2012. During her fellowship, she was also enrolled in the clinical research training program at Einstein, earning her Master of Science in clinical research methods in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Hayde&rsquo;s research focus is on the role of donor-specific antibodies in pediatric kidney transplantation and methods to decrease antibody mediated injury. Her findings have been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and have been shared through book chapters, posters and presentations. She is on the editorial board of Frontiers in Pediatrics and is a peer reviewer for several journals including Transplantation, Pediatric Transplantation and Human Immunology. She also serves as a research mentor for fellows interested in kidney transplant research.</p><p>Dr. Hayde is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. She has several national roles including the associate councilor of region 9 of United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) and the executive committee of the pediatric community of practice of the American Society of Transplantation. She is also a member of several professional organizations including the ASPN and the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.</p>

<p>Dr. Fuloria, Associate Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, obtained her medical degree from King George&rsquo;s Medical College in Lucknow, India, and then did her pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Upon completion of her fellowship, she joined the faculty at Wake Forest University. In 2006 she took a two-year sabbatical, during which she was a Visiting Scientist at the prestigious National Institute of Biological Sciences (of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) in Bangalore, India. In 2010 Dr. Fuloria joined the Department of Pediatrics at Montefiore. </p><p>Dr. Fuloria is a recipient of the 2000 Physician Scientist Award from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the 2002 C. Scott Venable Research Award in Respiratory Diseases&nbsp;awarded by the American Lung Association. She has been a member of the SPR Communications Committee and the SPR Fellows Basic Research Award (and the David G. Nathan Award) Selection Committee since 2010.</p>

<p>Dr. Campbell, Program Director for the fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Director of the Division of Neonatology at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, conducts the Low Birth Weight Infant Evaluation and Assessment Program (LEAP). She focuses on perinatal care and health services delivery, psychosocial support interventions for mothers of premature babies, perinatal ethics and collaborative decision-making, outcomes for very low birth weight infants and newborn hearing screening. She is a co-chair of the Faculty Mentoring Work Group of the Education and Faculty Support Committee at Einstein and led a faculty development initiative within the Department of Pediatrics.</p><p>A member of the National March of Dimes Bioethics Committee and NICU Family Support Project Advisory Group, Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York City and Bronx Infant Mortality Review Committees and is a co-chair of the Bronx Regional Perinatal Forum. She is a member of the Greater New York Hospital Association Perinatal Safety Collaborative Advisory Group and the National Quality Forum Perinatal Collaborative and the New York State Obstetric and Neonatal Quality Collaborative, Neonatology Expert Workgroup. Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York State Palliative Care Education and Training Council. Dr. Campbell is the recipient of the 2000 Bronx Perinatal Consortium Distinguished Clinical Care Award, the 2005 New York State Perinatal Association L. Stanley James Award and the 2009 National Perinatal Association Stan Graven Award. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly and the New York Magazine in their lists of Best Doctors.</p>

Biography

<p>Alissa Baker, MD, is an Instructor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is in pediatric sarcomas with an interest in identifying biomarkers of metastases, as well as identifying new adjuvant therapies for this high-risk patient population. Dr. Baker joined the Montefiore team in 2018. </p><p>Dr. Baker received her Doctor of Medicine from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she led the Quality Improvement team for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit. Following residency, she completed her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and The National Institutes of Health. </p><p>Dr. Baker&rsquo;s research focuses on Ewing sarcoma metastasis biology, with a specialized focus on Wnt signaling, using zebrafish as a model of sarcoma metastasis for high throughput drug screens to identify new agents, screening patient plasma and tissue samples for biomarkers of potential metastasis, and identifying circulating tumor cells in the blood of sarcoma patients as a possible correlative to disease burden. Her publications include a co-first author sentinel nature paper on mutation profiling in human cancer and a recent paper on the effects of Wnt signaling inhibition in Ewing sarcoma. </p><p>In 2017, Dr. Baker received the Pearl M. Stetler Grant for Women Physicians. In 2018, she received the Paul Calabresi K12 Award in Clinical Oncology for her research in Ewing sarcoma biology. Dr. Baker is board certified and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, she is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.</p>

<p>Tamar G. Baer, MD, is Associate Fellowship Program Director, Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is in pediatric endocrinology, differences in sexual development, and diabetes.</p><p>After completing her Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2007 at Barnard College, Columbia University, Dr. Baer pursued her medical education at Einstein, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2011. She continued at Einstein for her internship and residency in pediatrics, completing her chief residency in 2015. She continued her postdoctoral training at Columbia University Medical Center, completing a three-year fellowship in pediatric endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism in 2018.</p><p>Dr. Baer&rsquo;s research follows her clinical interest in medical education, wellbeing in medical training, pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. She has shared her research through peer-reviewed journals and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Baer is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics.</p>
