<p><span>Dr. Marjan Rahmanian is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Neurology. She is an Associate Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Montefiore Medical Center. She is also Medical Director of Physician Assistant Critical Care Residency program. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. After completing her training, she joined the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where she served as an Associate Director of Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU at Montefiore Medical center. As a cardiac intensivist, Dr. Rahmanian focuses on the management of post heart surgery like CABG, valve replacemant, Mechanical Circulatory Support like,ECMO, LVAD,Impella, heart and lung transplant.</p>

Dr. Norris's research focus is on primary palliative care education and family decision making regarding medical technology.
<p>Sarah Evans Norris, MD, MEd, is Director of the Quality in Life Team and Director of Pediatric Palliative Care at Children?s Hospital at Montefiore. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. </p><p>Dr. Norris earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Loyola University Chicago in 1993 receiving the Gladys Kinnery Clinical Excellence award. As a nurse she worked around the globe including as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco before pursuing medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She completed the Fifth Pathway Program through New York Medical College and embarked on her pediatrics internship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey. She finished her residency at the Medical College of Georgia where she was named Resident of the Year. Following residency she completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine and a masters in medical education at Cincinnati Children?s Medical Center. After several years in practice she returned to Cincinnati Children?s to complete a second fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Norris is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.</p> <p>Dr. Norris? research focus is on primary palliative care education and family decision making regarding medical technology. She has given numerous presentations nationally and has a wide range of teaching experience with both adults and children internationally. In 2018 she received the Lewis Fraad Excellence in Resident Teaching Award. When she is not at CHAM you can find her running.</p>

<p>Dr. Ann Nguyen is a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist who is a clinician specialist in neonatal medicine. She obtained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her training in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Following an additional year as Pediatric Chief Resident, Dr. Nguyen completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Mattel Children’s Hospital, UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include intestinal function and the treatment of fungal infections in infants. Dr. Nguyen is a certified instructor for the AAP-AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program. </p>
Sheri L. Nemerofsky
<p>Sheri L. Nemerofsky, MD, FAAP, is Director, Newborn Services and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Nemerofsky’s clinical focus centers on newborn care and respiratory and nutritional needs.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Muhlenberg College in 1994, Dr. Nemerofsky earned her Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten in 1999. She was a pediatric dermatology research associate at the University of Miami until 2000, before completing her pediatrics internship at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001. Dr. Nemerofsky remained at this institution to complete her pediatrics residency in 2003. Following this, she completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2006.</p><p>Dr. Nemerofsky’s research focuses on quality improvement, safety and healthcare disparities. She has shared her work through numerous national and international presentations and peer- reviewed publications. Dr. Nemerofsky is also a reviewer for the <em>American Journal of Perinatology</em>, the <em>American Journal of Preventive Medicine</em>, the <em>Journal of Perinatology and Pediatrics</em>.</p><p>Dr. Nemerofsky is board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association, the Society for Pediatric Research and the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee of Coding and Nomenclature. In 2023, Dr. Nemerofsky won the Award for Outstanding Poster Presentation from Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and Second Place Abstract Presentation at the 2023 Montefiore Wakefield Interprofessional Research and Quality Improvement Symposium.</p>
Donald S. Miller

<p>Physician-Scientist, Michael Miksa, MD, PhD received his medical degree from the Free University of Berlin in Germany and his academic degree magna cum laude from The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He completed his pediatric residency training at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate, a critical care fellowship at Yale and had worked in the pediatric emergency department for the Boston Children’s Hospital.</p><p>Dr. Miksa presented his work at several meetings both nationally and abroad and is Site Investigator for NEAR4KIDS, a multi-center quality improvement study to limit adverse events during intubations.</p>

<p>Mark A. Menegus, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Montefiore’s Einstein campus and Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining Montefiore, his focus has been interventional and clinical cardiology, interventional management of acute myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndromes, outpatient consultative cardiology and training general and interventional cardiology fellows.</p><p>In 1977, Dr. Menegus received his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Science/Physiology from Rutgers University. He then attended Rutgers Medical School, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1981. From 1981 to 1987, Dr. Menegus completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Montefiore, also serving as an Assistant Firm Leader in the Deparment of Medicine.</p><p>Dr. Menegus has been the Principal Investigator for many research projects, including the NIH-sponsored Myocardial Infarction and Transfusion trial, the SHOCK trial, and the PHRI-sponsored COMPLETE trial. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, books and abstracts and has been presented nationally.</p><p>He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention and the American Heart Association.
