Biography

<p>Jacob F. Schulz, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care with an emphasis on spinal deformity, neuromuscular disease and trauma. He has a particular interest in the growing spine, with experience using the vertical expandable titanium rib (VEPTR) device and vertebral tethering through a thoracoscopic approach. At our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery.</p><p>He served both his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where he was honored with the Frank Hammond Sivitz and Chief Resident Teaching Awards in 2011. During his residency, he traveled to Neustadt, Germany to study spine deformity at the Schoen Clinic, and to San Pedro Sula in Honduras to help CURE International provide world class orthopedic care to children. Dr. Schulz completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Rady Children&rsquo;s Hospital-San Diego, ranked second by <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report</em> in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Schulz&rsquo;s research has been published in The Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics (JPO) and presented at several national meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA).</p>

She is an active member of the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and a leader of the CARRA Mental Health Workgroup. Dr. Rubinstein is a recipient of the Lupus Foundation of America Career Development Award, the Rheumatology Research Foundation K-Bridge Award, and has received additional funding from CARRA and the Arthritis Foundation for her research. She is currently a lead investigator in the Einstein Pediatric Lupus Cohort.</p>

<p>John F. Reinus, MD, is Emeritus Medical Director, Liver Transplantation and Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. His work centers on liver transplantation, end-stage liver disease and viral hepatitis.</p><p>Dr. Reinus studied Pre-Medical Sciences at Columbia University before earning his Doctor of Medicine at Cornell Medical College in 1981. He then began an internal medicine internship at Bellevue Hospital Center, completing it in 1982. Following this, Dr. Reinus completed a residency in internal medicine at the same institution in 1984 before completing a hepatology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in 1985. He went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at the same institution, finishing it in 1987. Dr. Reinus then completed a Transplant Hepatology Preceptorship at the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation in 2006.</p><p>Building on his clinical focus, Dr. Reinus&rsquo; research is focused on liver diseases and related topics. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, books, chapters, reviews and abstracts, and he has presented at numerous conferences and meetings.</p><p>Dr. Reinus is board certified by the American Board of Medical Examiners in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. Biography

<p>Richard Lucariello, MD, is Clinical Director, Non-Invasive Cardiology at the Wakefield Campus of Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical interests include clinical cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.</p><p>Dr. Lucariello earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Fordham University in 1979, followed by his Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 1984. He began his postdoctoral training at Westchester County Medical Center, completing a medicine internship in 1985 and a two-year medicine residency in 1987. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent&rsquo;s Hospital &amp; Medical Center in 1989 before returning to Westchester County Medical Center to complete a nuclear cardiology fellowship in 1990.</p><p>Following his clinical interests, Dr. Lucariello&rsquo;s research focuses primarily on echocardiography. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts.</p><p>Dr. Lucariello is actively involved in educating medical residents and cardiology fellows at the Wakefield campus, and was awarded the Program Director&rsquo;s Training Award for Cardiology for the 2011&ndash;2012 academic year. He is board certified and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.</p>

<p>Konstantinos Loupasakis, MD, is an attending rheumatologist at Montefiore Einstein and Rheumatology Fellowship Program Director and Associate Professor, Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Loupasakis sees patients with a wide range of rheumatologic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus and multisystem sarcoidosis.</p><p>In 2007, Dr. Loupasakis earned his medical doctorate at University of Crete in Greece. He later came to the United States to further his medical training, completing his medical residency at Steward St. Elizabeth&rsquo;s Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine in 2012, followed by his rheumatology fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in 2015 and a yearlong research fellowship at the same institution in 2016.</p><p>Dr. Loupasakis' research focus includes multisystem sarcoidosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and medical education. He is a certified facilitator, teaching relationship-centered communication in healthcare, and is particularly interested in optimization of the patient-physician relationship. Dr. Loupasakis has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and invited national and regional presentations. He is also a reviewer for scientific rheumatology journals.</p><p>Dr. Loupasakis is board certified in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology. <p>Martin Levy, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He is also an expert in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and revision of failed ACL surgery. Dr. Levy is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine as well as the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program Director. His experience is extensive, notably in arthroscopy and meniscus surgery, including meniscal repair, arthroscopic stabilization of shoulder instability, arthroscopic repair of SLAP injuries and other shoulder maladies in athletes, and arthroscopic and open solutions for patellar instability.</p><p>He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He was an assistant resident in general surgery at Metropolitan Hospital Center, Chief Resident in Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore and fellow in the Sports Medicine Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery.</p><p>Dr. Levy&rsquo;s early research focused on soft tissue biomechanics and injury epidemiology. More recently, he has concentrated on optimizing the surgical skills of orthopedic surgery residents using operant learning methodologies.
