<p>As a pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Lam manages and cares for children and adolescents in many areas of clinical endocrinology, including growth disorders, premature pubertal advancement or delay, diabetes, adrenal disorders, and calcium and vitamin D abnormalities, with particular interest in pediatric thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer. Besides his clinical work, Dr. Lam is actively involved in the teaching of pediatric house staff, fellows and medical students in both the hospital and the outpatient clinic settings.??? </p><p>As a clinical research scientist, Dr. Lam is actively engaged in research concerning the role of hormonal disorders in children. He has particular interest in thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer as they pertain to the pediatric population and is involved in several projects examining the methods by which thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer are generally evaluated and treated.</p>

<p>Elissa B. Gross, DO, MPH, is an attending physician at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on the care of children admitted to the general pediatrics service as well as co-management of patients on the surgical subspecialty services.</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Arts at Yeshiva University, Stern College for Women in 1998, Dr. Gross attended Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning her Doctor of Osteopathy in 2002. For her postgraduate training, she completed her pediatric residency in 2005 at Children&rsquo;s Hospital Medical Center of Akron, then pursued a pediatric academic fellowship and her Master of Public Health at University of Minnesota, completing both in 2008.</p><p>Dr. Gross&rsquo; research focuses include asthma and breastfeeding and how being hospitalized impacts children and families. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts, poster presentations and invited presentations. She also has served as a reviewer for Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Journal of Asthma and Pediatrics.</p><p>Dr. Gross is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. <p>Dr. Danielle Fernandes is an assistant professor of pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Prior to joining Einstein, she served as the Site Director for the pediatrics clerkship at New York Medical College/Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. She joined the Einstein faculty in 2019 and in 2022, she became Course Director for the Bioethics course for medical students. She also co-facilitates bioethics, humanism and professionalism sessions for the pediatric residents at CHAM. She is interested in curriculum development and keeping our curriculum up to date with the ethical issues around us. Dr. Fernandes is a graduate of Cornell University and received her medical degree from Columbia University. She completed her residency training at New York Presbyterian at Columbia. Dr. Fernandes is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and member of the AAP Section on Bioethics subgroup.</p>

<p>Danielle M. Fernandes, MD, is an Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Fernandes is a pediatric hospitalist committed to providing patient-focused and family-centered care to children admitted to the pediatric hospital medicine service.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in human biology, health and society from Cornell University in 2010, Dr. Fernandes earned her Doctor of Medicine at Columbia University in 2014. Following this, she completed her pediatric residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University in 2017. Given her interest in bioethics, Dr. Fernandes later earned a certificate in bioethics at Montefiore Einstein in 2023.</p><p>Dr. Fernandes co-facilitates bioethics, humanism and professionalism sessions for the pediatric residents at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Her research is focused on curriculum development and medical education. She also teaches Bioethics to medical students at the medical school. Dr. Fernandes has served as Interim Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency program and has focused on efforts to improve social determinants of health screening in the inpatient hospital setting. Biography

<p>Maneesha Bangar, MD, is Director, Simulation for Education and Patient Safety in Critical Care and Assistant Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical interests include providing care for complex ICU patients, critical care consults, training house staff in running Rapid Response and Cardiac Arrest Codes emphasizing communication and teamwork skills, training CCM Fellows in airway management, emergency procedures, hands on ultrasound training and multisystem bedside training to efficiently manage emergencies. She is also involved in conducting multidisciplinary in situ simulations for better patient care with other departments</p><p>In 1999, Dr. Bangar completed her medical education at B.J. Medical College in Pune, Maharashtra, India. She completed her yearlong rotating internship at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, India in 2000 followed by a job as a Medical Officer in rural India. She then completed a three-year anesthesiology residency at B.J. Medical College in 2004. Dr. Bangar later pursued additional postgraduate training at Montefiore, completing an internal medicine residency in 2012, acting as Chief Resident in her final year, followed by a two-year critical care medicine fellowship, which she completed in 2014.</p><p>Dr. Bangar&rsquo;s research includes the applications of simulation to increase efficiency in patient management, uncovering latent safety threats and quality improvement. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Bangar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. She is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Physicians. In 2022, she was awarded Faculty Scholar for the Harvard Macy Program for Educators in Health Professions.</p>

<p>Tamar G. Baer, MD, is Associate Fellowship Program Director, Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein.
