<p>Courtney McNamara, MD, is Associate Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on pediatric hospital medicine, with a particular interest in resident education and mentorship.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. McNamara received her Bachelor of Science at James Madison University. She pursued her medical education at New York Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2010. She then came to CHAM for her postgraduate training, completing her pediatric residency in 2013.</p><p>Dr. McNamara&rsquo;s research focuses on improving the patient experience. She is a co-investigator in a grant funded project investigating communication with hospitalized patients with limited English proficiency, and her body of research includes quality improvement research studies focused on improving inpatient pediatric comfort and decreasing painful experiences. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and platform presentations.</p><p>Dr. McNamara is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2023, Dr. McNamara was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society.</p>

<p>Paul Levy, MD, is Director, Center for Inherited Metabolic Disorders and Director, Inherited Metabolic Disease Specialty Care Referral Center at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein. He is also Associate Professor, Pediatrics and Pathology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Levy sees patients with complex medical issues that may have a genetic etiology. He has a special interest in inherited metabolic disorders, including phenylketonuria (PKU), lysosomal storage diseases and urea cycle disorders, and sees newborns referred by the New York State Newborn Screening Program with positive screens.
</p><p>After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Tulane University, Dr. Levy completed his residency in pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. He then completed a fellowship in ambulatory pediatrics at the same institution. Following this, Dr. Levy completed a fellowship in clinical and biochemical genetics at Tulane University. </p><p>Dr. Levy is involved in a long-term follow-up study for children with disorders diagnosed by newborn screening. He also participates in a study looking into a novel way to look at newborn screening and follow-up testing to determine if some infants with positive newborn screens may have a late-onset disease such as Pompe, Krabbe, and mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS I). Dr. Levy is on an advisory panel for Krabbe disease that helps physicians interpret clinical data to help determine infants&rsquo; status and help with needed follow-up. He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on clinical trials and funded research projects, and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, review articles, book chapters and meeting abstracts. Dr. Levy has also given several nationally invited presentations and has been a journal reviewer for <em>Pediatrics Journal of Pediatrics and Genetics in Medicine</em>. </p><p>Dr. Levy is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Medical Genetics. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Human Genetics, Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. In 2023, Dr. Levy received the &ldquo;Clinician Champion Award in Newborn Screening&rdquo; from the Association of Public Health Laboratories.

Dr. Kobets received his Medical Doctorate and Master of Health Science degrees from the Yale School of Medicine and completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Kobets is the first in his family born in the United States and is from Queens, NY. His family is Ukrainian with roots in Siberia as well. <p>Andrew Joshua Kobets, MD, is Attending Physician at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Kobets specializes in pediatric neurological surgery with a focus on minimally invasive tumor resection, neuro-endoscopy for hydrocephalus, craniofacial reconstruction, Chiari malformation surgery, tethered cord syndrome repair, and pediatric cranial trauma management.</p><p>In 2005, Dr. Kobets received his Bachelor of Arts in systems neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. From 2007 to 2012, he attended Yale University. During this time, he received his Master of Health Sciences and Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Kobets began his postgraduate training in 2012 at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and continued to train there until 2019. He began with a year-long internship in neurological surgery. He then completed a 6-year residency in neurological surgery, becoming Chief Resident in the final year. In 2019, Dr. Kobets began a year-long fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.</p><p>Dr. Kobets&rsquo; research aims to develop a model of hydrocephalus secondary to intraventricular hemorrhage to trial the use of cutting-edge therapies to prevent life-long shunt dependence in children with hydrocephalus. His work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, books and abstracts, and has been presented internationally at invited presentations.</p><p>The Norma Bailey Berniker Prize was given to Dr. Kobets by the Yale School of Medicine in 2012. In 2018, Dr. Kobets received the Fred Epstein Award from the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. The following year, he received the Leo M. Davidoff Society Award for Outstanding Medical Student Education.</p><p>Dr. Kobets is a member of numerous professional societies, including the AANS/CNS Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery, the American Academy of Neurological Surgery, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery. </p>

Her clinical focus is on neonatal outcomes for premature infants, low birth weight infants and infants requiring extended Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hospitalizations.</p><p>Dr. Kalhan earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2009 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency in 2012 at St. Louis Children&rsquo;s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Columbia University, where she was Chief Fellow in her final year of training in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Kalhan&rsquo;s research interests and expertise include improving follow-up care and neonatal outcomes in high-risk infant populations, with an emphasis on early detection of cerebral palsy. <p>Dr. Fuloria, Associate Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, obtained her medical degree from King George&rsquo;s Medical College in Lucknow, India, and then did her pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Upon completion of her fellowship, she joined the faculty at Wake Forest University. In 2006 she took a two-year sabbatical, during which she was a Visiting Scientist at the prestigious National Institute of Biological Sciences (of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) in Bangalore, India. In 2010 Dr. Fuloria joined the Department of Pediatrics at Montefiore. </p><p>Dr. Fuloria is a recipient of the 2000 Physician Scientist Award from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the 2002 C. Scott Venable Research Award in Respiratory Diseases&nbsp;awarded by the American Lung Association. <p>Dr. Danielle Fernandes is an assistant professor of pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Prior to joining Einstein, she served as the Site Director for the pediatrics clerkship at New York Medical College/Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. She joined the Einstein faculty in 2019 and in 2022, she became Course Director for the Bioethics course for medical students. She also co-facilitates bioethics, humanism and professionalism sessions for the pediatric residents at CHAM. She is interested in curriculum development and keeping our curriculum up to date with the ethical issues around us. Dr. Fernandes is a graduate of Cornell University and received her medical degree from Columbia University. She completed her residency training at New York Presbyterian at Columbia. <p>Danielle M. Fernandes, MD, is an Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Fernandes is a pediatric hospitalist committed to providing patient-focused and family-centered care to children admitted to the pediatric hospital medicine service.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in human biology, health and society from Cornell University in 2010, Dr. Fernandes earned her Doctor of Medicine at Columbia University in 2014. Following this, she completed her pediatric residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University in 2017. Given her interest in bioethics, Dr. Fernandes later earned a certificate in bioethics at Montefiore Einstein in 2023.</p><p>Dr. Fernandes co-facilitates bioethics, humanism and professionalism sessions for the pediatric residents at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Her research is focused on curriculum development and medical education. She also teaches Bioethics to medical students at the medical school. Dr. Fernandes has served as Interim Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency program and has focused on efforts to improve social determinants of health screening in the inpatient hospital setting. Her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and presentations.</p><p>Dr. Fernandes is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities.</p>

<p>Jillian Connors, MD, FAAP, is a neonatologist and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Connors is a neonatal-perinatal medicine specialist, and in her clinical role, she cares for critically ill and preterm infants with a wide variety of acute and chronic healthcare needs.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology from Canisius College in 2007, Dr. Connors earned her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2011. She then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she completed her pediatric internship and residency in 2014 and became Chief Resident until 2015. Dr. Connors also completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at this institution in 2018.</p><p>Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Connors&rsquo; research focuses on quality improvement, simulation, neonatal nutrition and breastfeeding. Biography

<p>Dr. Campbell, Program Director for the fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Director of the Division of Neonatology at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, conducts the Low Birth Weight Infant Evaluation and Assessment Program (LEAP). She focuses on perinatal care and health services delivery, psychosocial support interventions for mothers of premature babies, perinatal ethics and collaborative decision-making, outcomes for very low birth weight infants and newborn hearing screening. She is a co-chair of the Faculty Mentoring Work Group of the Education and Faculty Support Committee at Einstein and led a faculty development initiative within the Department of Pediatrics.</p><p>A member of the National March of Dimes Bioethics Committee and NICU Family Support Project Advisory Group, Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York City and Bronx Infant Mortality Review Committees and is a co-chair of the Bronx Regional Perinatal Forum. She is a member of the Greater New York Hospital Association Perinatal Safety Collaborative Advisory Group and the National Quality Forum Perinatal Collaborative and the New York State Obstetric and Neonatal Quality Collaborative, Neonatology Expert Workgroup. Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York State Palliative Care Education and Training Council. Dr. Campbell is the recipient of the 2000 Bronx Perinatal Consortium Distinguished Clinical Care Award, the 2005 New York State Perinatal Association L. Stanley James Award and the 2009 National Perinatal Association Stan Graven Award. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly and the New York Magazine in their lists of Best Doctors.</p>
