<p>Jacob F. Schulz, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care with an emphasis on spinal deformity, neuromuscular disease and trauma. He has a particular interest in the growing spine, with experience using the vertical expandable titanium rib (VEPTR) device and vertebral tethering through a thoracoscopic approach. At our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery.</p><p>He served both his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where he was honored with the Frank Hammond Sivitz and Chief Resident Teaching Awards in 2011. During his residency, he traveled to Neustadt, Germany to study spine deformity at the Schoen Clinic, and to San Pedro Sula in Honduras to help CURE International provide world class orthopedic care to children. Dr. Schulz completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, ranked second by <em>U.S. News & World Report</em> in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Schulz’s research has been published in The Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics (JPO) and presented at several national meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA).</p>

Elayna O. Rubens
<p>Elayna Rubens, MD, is Co-Director, Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Service at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Rubens’s primary clinical focus is performing intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring to enhance the safety of surgeries that may affect the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology and neurobiology from Cornell University in 1998, Dr. Rubens earned her Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2003. Dr. Rubens completed her neurology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2007, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. She went on to complete a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2009.</p><p>Dr. Rubens’s research focuses on enhancing neurophysiologic monitoring techniques to improve the safety of surgeries involving the nervous system. Her research also involves using clinical evoked potential testing and electroencephalography to improve neurologic patient care, particularly in the critical care setting. She has shared her work through numerous peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations.</p><p>Dr. Rubens is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a Fellow of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and member of the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology.</p>
Jillian L. Rosengard
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16.8667px;">Jillian L. Rosengard, MD, is an attending physician and Associate Professor of Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of seizures and epilepsy. She has a particular interest in treating patients with intractable epilepsy and caring for women with epilepsy during their pregnancies, as well as medical education.</p>

She completed an internship in internal medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center in 2013 before completing her residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2016, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Rosengard then completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Einstein in 2017.</p>

She also participates in drug trials for new anti-seizure medications through Montefiore’s Clinical Research Center. She has been Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on several research projects, and her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. Dr. Rosengard has given national presentations and has been a reviewer for scientific journals including <em>Neurology, Epilepsy & Behavior </em>and the<em> Journal of the Neurological Sciences.</em></p>

Davidoff Society for outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students, and she has been named a New York Super Doctors Rising Star for several years.</p>

Stephanie Rand, DO, is the Program Director for Montefiore Einstein’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency and an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine. She is the director of Montefiore Einstein’s prosthetic and orthotic services, practicing general rehabilitation medicine, and musculoskeletal medicine, including osteopathic manipulative treatments.<br /><br />Dr. Rand received her Bachelor of Arts in anthropology at New York University in 2006. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathy in 2010 at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed a traditional rotating internship at Nassau University Medical Center in 2011, followed by a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Montefiore in 2014.<br /><br />Dr. Rand’s published research explores the effective use of 3-dimensional (3D) printing for prostheses, the integration of alternative medicine into primary care, and graduate medical education trends and signaling. She oversees the department’s 3D printing lab, with a focus on printing durable medical equipment and prostheses.
Raminder K. Parihar
Dr. Parihar is focused on expanding the DBS to improve the quality of life of patients with tremors, Parkinson's disease, and dystonia.
Dr. Parihar is interested in studying gait disorders and working to find advanced therapies to improve them.

<p>Raminder Parihar, MD, is Director, Neuromodulation at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Parihar evaluates and treats patients with different movement disorders. She is also largely involved in evaluating patients for candidacy for deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery for the treatment of different movement disorders and initiating and following up stimulation programming.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from the City College of New York in 2007, Dr. Parihar completed her Doctor of Medicine at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 2009. She then came to Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she completed an internship in medicine in 2010 and her residency in adult neurology in 2013, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Parihar completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Harvard/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2014.</p><p>Dr. Parihar’s research focuses on gait disorders and how they can predict cognitive impairment in patients with Parkinson's disease. She also studies the impact of deep brain stimulation in improving the quality of life in patients with movement disorders. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed book chapters and publications, and she has shared her work through lectures and platform and abstract presentations.</p><p>Dr. Parihar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorders Society and the American Medical Association (AMA). In 2023, Dr. Parihar was a recipient of the Marquis Who's Who in America Award.</p>
Jonathan L. Panitch
Saikiran Murthy
<p>Saikiran Murthy, DO, is a neurosurgeon and Assistant Professor, Leo M. Davidoff Department of Neurosurgery at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Murthy specializes in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders including chronic back pain, degenerative disk disease, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, cervical myelopathy, spondylotic arthropathy, spondylolisthesis and thoracolumbar deformity. His clinical interests also include robotic spinal surgery, computer navigation assisted spinal surgery and general neurosurgery.</p><p>Dr. Murthy brings a unique background as he is dually trained in neurology and neurosurgery. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 at New York University, he attended Boston University School of Medicine, earning his Master of Arts in medical sciences in 2005. He then attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2009. Dr. Murthy’s postdoctoral training began at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, Cornell University with a yearlong internship. From 2010 to 2013 he completed a neurology residency at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University. Following this, he pursued a neurological surgery residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, RWJBarnabas Health, Rutgers University completing it in 2018. During this time, he also completed a fellowship in endoscopic skull-base neurosurgery at Weill Cornell College of Medicine. In 2019, he completed a CAST accredited, AO-Spine fellowship in complex spinal neurosurgery at the University of Virginia Medical Center.</p><p>The focus of Dr. Murthy’s research is comparative effective research in spinal neurosurgery. His work has been shared in posters, presentations and peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Murthy is board certified in neurological surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He is an affiliate member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, a member of AO Spine North America, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.</p>
