Biography

<p>Nicole Hayde, MD, MS, is a pediatric nephrologist at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM), Medical Director, Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program, Associate Director, Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Hayde&rsquo;s clinical focus is pediatric renal transplantation, with a particular interest in the role of antibodies in allograft injury.</p><p>After earning her Doctor of Medicine from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in 2003, Dr. Hayde completed her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami in 2009. She went on to complete her fellowship in pediatric nephrology at CHAM in 2012. During her fellowship, she was also enrolled in the clinical research training program at Einstein, earning her Master of Science in clinical research methods in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Hayde&rsquo;s research focus is on the role of donor-specific antibodies in pediatric kidney transplantation and methods to decrease antibody mediated injury. Her findings have been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and have been shared through book chapters, posters and presentations. She is on the editorial board of Frontiers in Pediatrics and is a peer reviewer for several journals including Transplantation, Pediatric Transplantation and Human Immunology. She also serves as a research mentor for fellows interested in kidney transplant research.</p><p>Dr. Hayde is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. She has several national roles including the associate councilor of region 9 of United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) and the executive committee of the pediatric community of practice of the American Society of Transplantation. She is also a member of several professional organizations including the ASPN and the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.</p>

<p>Dr. Galen graduated from Brown University with honors in the biological sciences and earned an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. &nbsp;He trained in internal medicine at Yale University where he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was the class speaker at residency graduation. &nbsp;He joined Montefiore and Einstein in 2013 as a teaching attending in Hospital Medicine</p>
<p>Dr. Galen is an Associate Program Director in The Einstein/Montefiore Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Director of Firm 3 and the Director of ultrasound and procedure training. &nbsp;In 2015 Dr. Galen received the Sharon R. Silbiger Faculty Teaching Award from the Einstein residents. &nbsp;He has led hundreds of resident teaching conferences and has worked to formalize curricula for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and bedside procedures, such as lumbar puncture and paracentesis. &nbsp;Dr. Galen has taught in the EPHEM, Microbiology, and PDC classes at Einstein. &nbsp;He has led translational research on recurrent meningitis, collaborting with members of Betsy Herold's laboratory. He has co-authored over 20 original research studies. &nbsp;Dr. Galen is passionate about medical case reports and he has mentored residents and junior faculty in the process of publishing cases in a variety of venues. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Galen is the editor-in-chief of <em>POCUS Journal (</em><a href="https://pocusjournal.com/">https://pocusjournal.com/)</a>, the world's leading peer-reviewed, open-access publication for point-of-care ultrasound. &nbsp;He teaches POCUS nationally at a variety of workshops and conferences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>John D. Fisher, MD, is an Attending Physician,&nbsp;Program Director CCEP Fellowship, and an Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Montefiore and our <a href="http://www.einstein.yu.edu/faculty/7520/john-fisher/&quot; target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Albert Einstein College of Medicine</a>. His clinical focus is on all aspects of arrhythmias, especially clinical diagnosis, decisions, and treatment. He is also interested in teaching local, national, and international cardiology improvements.</p><p>Dr. Fisher received his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1965. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1969 from Wayne State University School of Medicine. In 1970, Dr. Fisher completed a medical internship at Boston City Hospital Tufts Medical Service. He completed his first-year residency at Boston City Hospital, followed by a second year at New York Hospital ? Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Fisher completed three&nbsp;years of cardiac fellowships;&nbsp;the first at Montefiore,&nbsp;followed by a year at Hammersmith Hospital (London), and&nbsp;returning to Montefiore to finish his final year.</p><p>Dr. Fisher?s research focus is on heart rhythm abnormalities and their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. His work has been published in more than 500 reviewed journals and abstracts and chapters, and numerous national and international meetings.</p><p>Dr. Fisher is board certified in Medicine, Cardiology, and Electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of many professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, European Society of Cardiology, and the American Medical Association.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dr. Lewis A. Eisen's research interests include critical care outcomes based research and education research, with specific research interests and clinical expertise in ultrasound, simulation training and airway training.</p>
<p>Dr. Eisen completed his undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University and graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed residency, including a year as chief medical resident, at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. He then did a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Beth Israel as well. Since graduating from fellowship in 2007 he has been a member of the faculty at Einstein/Montefiore, where he is currently Chief of Clinical Affairs. House staff selected him as Outstanding Subspecialty Attending of the Year four times. He is Professor of Medicine.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Eisen is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His clinical and research interests include simulation training, critical care ultrasound and crew resource management. He has served as faculty for many regional and national critical care ultrasound courses sponsored by the Greater New York Hospital Foundation and the American College of Chest Physicians.</p>
