<p>Dr. Hina J. Talib, a Brown University&nbsp;<em>summa cum laude</em>&nbsp;graduate, earned her&nbsp;<em>Bachelor of Science</em>&nbsp;in Neuroscience. She attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College, NY where she served as vice-president of her class. She completed her Pediatrics Residency at New York Presbyterian- Weill Cornell and her Chief Residency in Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.</p>
<p>Dr. Talib completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine in June 2013 at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Talib joined CHAM as Assistant Medical Director for the Michael I. Cohen, MD Adolescent Inpatient Floor where she serves as a teaching hospitalist and chaired the Quality Improvement Committee. In 2015, Dr. Talib was appointed as Associate Director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Training Program. In 2018, Dr. Talib was appointed Medical Director of the Adolescent Inpatient floor.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In addition to providing outpatient sub-specialty care at CHAM, Dr. Talib also cared for youth in foster care at the Children's Aid Society's Bronx Family Health Center. Dr. Talib offers Nexplanon dermal implants, as a method of long acting hormonal contraception, for teen pregnancy prevention at both sites. Her clinical interests include adolescent health, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, contraception, mental health, care of children in foster care, and care of the hospitalized adolescent.</p>
<p>Dr. Talib is board-certified in Pediatrics and in Adolescent Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and a member of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) and the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG). She serves as Associate Editor of the <em>Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology</em>, the official journal of NASPAG, and as a co-chair of the NASPAG resident education committee. In addition, Dr. Talib is a recent past President of the Executive Board of the New York chapter of SAHM.</p>

Biography

<p>Hina J. Talib, MD, is Director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program and an Attending Physician in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Talib is also an Associate&nbsp;Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is adolescent health, pediatrics and adolescent gynecology, contraception, mental health, care of children in foster care and care of hospitalized adolescents. She joined the Montefiore team in 2013.</p><p>Dr. Talib received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience in 2001 from Brown University. In 2006, she received her Doctor of Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. In 2009, Dr. Talib completed a residency in pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children&rsquo;s Health &ndash; Weill Cornell Medical Center. <p>Adit Tal, MD, is an Attending Physician at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Marrow and Blood Cell Transplantation at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, Dr. Tal&rsquo;s clinical focus has been the treatment of pediatric leukemia and lymphoma, and the supportive care of children with cancer.</p><p>Dr. Tal received her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in 2008, followed by her Doctorate of Medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine. She began her postgraduate training in 2013 at CHAM and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, following her Pediatrics residency with a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship.</p><p>Building on her clinical practices, Dr. Tal&rsquo;s research focuses on novel therapeutic targets for advanced treatments in metastatic osteosarcoma. She is examining a signaling pathway crucial to bone development and differentiation, and targeting this pathway to treat osteosarcoma. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed articles.</p><p>Dr. Tal is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of many professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Children&rsquo;s Oncology Group, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. <p>Tihomir Stefanec, MD, is Attending Physician, Critical Care Medicine, Assistant Professor, Medicine and Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is multidisciplinary critical care medicine including medical, surgical, neurologic and cardiothoracic critical care.</p><p>After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Zagreb Medical School in Zagreb, Croatia in 1992, Dr. Stefanec completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Long Island College Hospital in 1997. He then completed a critical care medicine fellowship at Saint Vincent&rsquo;s Hospital and Medical Center in 1999. Following this, Dr. Stefanec completed a pulmonary medicine fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2001.</p><p>Dr. Stefanec&rsquo;s past research focuses on the role of the endothelium and its progenitors in the pathogenesis of disease. Biography

<p>Mark Shlomovich, MD, is Director, Extracorporeal Liver Support and Director, Pediatric Critical Care Transport at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of critically ill children with abdominal organ failure, transplantation and post-surgical care. He also focuses on the safe transportation of critically ill children.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. Shlomovich earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Towson University. He then attended University of Connecticut School of Medicine earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2010. His postgraduate training began at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a four-year pediatric residency, where he was Chief Pediatric Resident in his final year. He then came to Children's Hospital at Montefiore for a pediatric critical care fellowship, which he completed in 2017.</p><p>Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s research interests are in the use of artificial liver support technology, as well as the care of children in liver failure before and after transplantation. In addition, he investigates the safety and efficiency of the transportation of critically ill children. He has shared his research through peer-reviewed journals and abstracts, and is an ad hoc reviewer for BMC Nephrology.</p><p>Dr. Shlomovich is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.</p>
