<p>Bianca Calderon, MD, FAAP, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Calderon is a school health physician with a special interest in adolescent reproductive healthcare.</p><p>In 2009, Dr. Calderon received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University. She went on to attend Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning her medical degree in 2014. She then pursued postgraduate training at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, completing her residency in pediatrics in 2017.</p><p>She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.</p>

Larry Jay Bernstein
<p>Larry J. Bernstein, MD, is Associate Program Director, Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Clinical Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bernstein’s clinical focus is in chronic urticaria, asthma, and primary and acquired immunodeficiencies.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University in 1973, Dr. Bernstein came to Einstein for his medical education, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1977. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center in 1981, taking on the role of Chief Resident in his final year. In 1983, Dr. Bernstein completed a two-year fellowship in allergy and immunology at Einstein.</p><p>Dr. Bernstein’s research focus is in clinical service grants for HIV care. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and book chapters.</p><p>Dr. Bernstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy and Immunology and a member of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology and the Clinical Immunology Society. In 1981, he received the Leo M. Davidoff Certificate of Distinction for excellence in medical student teaching.</p>

Robert S. Beil

<p>Robert Beil, MD, is Medical Director, CICERO Program, Medical Director, Montefiore Einstein Transgender Health Program and Co-Medical Director, Montefiore Einstein Prevention Program at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a General Internist, Dr. Beil has provided primary care to residents of the South Bronx for over 30 years. He has particular interest in HIV care and HIV prevention.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biology 1988 from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Beil earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati in 1993. He then came to Montefiore for his internship and residency in internal medicine from 1993 to 1996.</p><p>Dr. Beil's research focuses on HIV. He has been principal investigator on a number of research projects, and his work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations.</p><p>Dr. Beil is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He has been listed as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor from 2015 until 2024.</p>

<p>Anne Barmettler, MD, is Director, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division and Professor, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Surgery at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Barmettler’s clinical specialty is oculoplastic surgery, which involves plastic and reconstructive surgery of the upper face, eyelids, orbit (bony cavity around the eye), and lacrimal (tear) system.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry at Bowdoin College in 2003, Dr. Barmettler pursued her Doctor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, earning the degree in 2008. Her postdoctoral training began with a yearlong internship at Crozer Chester Medical Center, which she completed in 2009 before beginning a three-year residency in ophthalmology at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical College. She then undertook a competitive two-year fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery from 2012 to 2014, training at William Beaumont Hospital, Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University and Consultants in Ophthalmic Facial Plastic Surgery.</p><p>Dr. Barmettler's research builds on her clinical interests in the treatment of conditions of the eyelid, orbit and lacrimal system. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles of original research, textbook chapters and review papers. She is routinely invited to give lectures and presentations at national and international meetings. Dr. Barmettler has been recognized for her dedication to research and now acts on the editorial board for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery's journal of <em>Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery</em>. She also serves as Editor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology website, Eyewiki, and is a peer-reviewer for many journals, including <em>JAMA Ophthalmology, Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine, Orbit, BMJ Open, American Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports</em>, and <em>Clinical Ophthalmology</em>.</p><p>Dr. Barmettler is board certified and a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Asian Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, New York Ophthalmological Society, and the North American Society of Academic Orbital Surgeons. She is one of only 800 surgeons that are a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), passing both written and oral exams and a peer-reviewed thesis on spacer graft in lower eyelid retraction surgery. This research was recognized by the official national ophthalmology society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, being awarded “Best of ASOPRS" in 2017.</p>
