<p>Ivy Tam, MD, FAAP, is an Attending Physician and a Non-neonatal Emergency Transport Coordinator at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore. She is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. </p><p>In 2009, Dr. Tam received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences at Cornell University. She then attended SUNY Upstate Medical University, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Tam began her postgraduate training with a residency in pediatrics at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine in 2018 at the University of California San Diego. </p><p>Dr. Tam&rsquo;s research aims to improve care and communication for patients with limited English proficiency, as well as standardizing pain practices for children. She has shared her work through presentations in academic forums and scientific meetings, and is currently in the process of being submitted for publication. </p><p>2017, Dr. Tam received the CARES Award from hospital staff at Rady Children&rsquo;s Hospital for her support during the medical director&rsquo;s absence. <p>Mark Shlomovich, MD, is Director, Extracorporeal Liver Support and Director, Pediatric Critical Care Transport at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Shlomovich&rsquo;s clinical focus is on the care of critically ill children with abdominal organ failure, transplantation and post-surgical care. He also focuses on the safe transportation of critically ill children.</p><p>In 2006, Dr. Shlomovich earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Towson University. He then attended University of Connecticut School of Medicine earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2010. His postgraduate training began at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a four-year pediatric residency, where he was Chief Pediatric Resident in his final year. <p class="MsoNormal">Theresa Serra, MD, joined the CHAM hospitalist division in 2014 after working as a pediatric hospitalist at New York Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. Her interests include clinical research and medical education. She has conducted an IRB approved retrospective chart review examining readmission rates in pediatric patients diagnosed with osteomyelitis. Dr. Serra is currently developing a medical Spanish curriculum for faculty members in order to improve communication between patients, families and providers. Along with Courtney McNamara, MD, Dr. Serra is a co-leader of a multidisciplinary committee dedicated to standardizing and improving quality of care for patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of failure to thrive. Dr. Serra is also working on an initiative to identify vaccine delinquency in the inpatient setting through the use of SMART reports.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Serra is also collaborating with Lindsey Douglas, MD, MSCR, in an IRB approved quality improvement (QI) project to improve transition-of-care communication between hospitalists and primary care providers and to facilitate the establishment of medical homes. Dr. Serra is also a member of a subcommittee that leads monthly journal clubs/case conferences for pediatric hospitalists.</p>

<p>Jacob F. Schulz, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care with an emphasis on spinal deformity, neuromuscular disease and trauma. He has a particular interest in the growing spine, with experience using the vertical expandable titanium rib (VEPTR) device and vertebral tethering through a thoracoscopic approach. At our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery.</p><p>He served both his internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where he was honored with the Frank Hammond Sivitz and Chief Resident Teaching Awards in 2011. During his residency, he traveled to Neustadt, Germany to study spine deformity at the Schoen Clinic, and to San Pedro Sula in Honduras to help CURE International provide world class orthopedic care to children. Dr. Schulz completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Rady Children&rsquo;s Hospital-San Diego, ranked second by <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report</em> in 2012.</p><p>Dr. Schulz&rsquo;s research has been published in The Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics (JPO) and presented at several national meetings. Rosengard, MD, is an attending physician and Associate Professor of Neurology at Montefiore Einstein. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of seizures and epilepsy. She has a particular interest in treating patients with intractable epilepsy and caring for women with epilepsy during their pregnancies, as well as medical education.</p>

She completed an internship in internal medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center in 2013 before completing her residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2016, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Rosengard then completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Einstein in 2017.</p>

She has been Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on several research projects, and her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. Dr. Rosengard has given national presentations and has been a reviewer for scientific journals including <em>Neurology, Epilepsy &amp; Behavior </em>and the<em> Journal of the Neurological Sciences.</em></p>

<p>Jessica Rieder, MD, a board-certified specialist in adolescent medicine, is Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. <p>Michelle M. Perez, MD, is the Program Director, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Perez has a clinical focus in acute respiratory distress syndrome and predictors of long-term outcomes in critically ill children.</p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Arts at Johns Hopkins University in 2010, Dr. Perez attended Tufts University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She began her postgraduate training as a pediatric resident at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai from 2014 to 2017. She then pursued a pediatric critical care fellowship at Montefiore-Einstein, completing it in 2020.</p><p>Dr. Perez&rsquo;s research is focused on improving multidisciplinary education regarding responses to emergencies. She also has an interest in how socioeconomic determinants impact risk of and recovery from critical illness. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and poster presentations.</p><p>Dr. Perez is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine.
