<p>Dr. Antonio Fojas obtained his MD from De La Salle University College of Medicine in the Philippines. He&nbsp;completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx and was a General Medicine Fellow and Chief Medical Resident at the same institution.</p><p>After completing his fellowship, Dr. Fojas was appointed Chief of General Medicine Ambulatory Clinic until 2003. <p>Larry J. Bernstein, MD, is Associate Program Director, Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Clinical Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bernstein&rsquo;s clinical focus is in chronic urticaria, asthma, and primary and acquired immunodeficiencies.</p><p>After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University in 1973, Dr. Bernstein came to Einstein for his medical education, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 1977. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center in 1981, taking on the role of Chief Resident in his final year. In 1983, Dr. Bernstein completed a two-year fellowship in allergy and immunology at Einstein.</p><p>Dr. Bernstein&rsquo;s research focus is in clinical service grants for HIV care. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, poster presentations and book chapters.</p><p>Dr. Bernstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. <p>Dr. Sarah W. Baron completed medical education and Primary Care/Internal Medicine residency at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Baron&nbsp; served as Chief Resident of Quality and Safety at the Manhattan campus of the VA NY Harbor Health System, one of approximately 50 residents chosen in the country to participate in this program though the National Center for Patient Safety at the VA.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Baron joined Montefiore in the Department of Medicine&rsquo;s Division of Hospital Medicine in 2014 where she now serves as the Director of Inpatient Quality, a teaching hospitalist, and an Assistant Professor of medicine. She regularly lecturers to the residents about systems-based improvement methodologies and error reporting.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Baron has been involved in multiple quality improvement efforts within the Department including her efforts improving rates of venous thromboembolism prophylaxis across the Montefiore hospital system. She also led the team that increased the speed with which Clostridium difficile testing results become available to providers in an effort to decrease rates of Hospital Onset Clostridium difficile. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Research Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her capstone project is an attempt to understand the distribution of asymptomatic Clostridium difficile carriers within our hospital system.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alissa Baker, MD, is an Instructor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she led the Quality Improvement team for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit. Following residency, she completed her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and The National Institutes of Health. </p><p>Dr. Baker&rsquo;s research focuses on Ewing sarcoma metastasis biology, with a specialized focus on Wnt signaling, using zebrafish as a model of sarcoma metastasis for high throughput drug screens to identify new agents, screening patient plasma and tissue samples for biomarkers of potential metastasis, and identifying circulating tumor cells in the blood of sarcoma patients as a possible correlative to disease burden. Her publications include a co-first author sentinel nature paper on mutation profiling in human cancer and a recent paper on the effects of Wnt signaling inhibition in Ewing sarcoma. </p><p>In 2017, Dr. Baker received the Pearl M. Stetler Grant for Women Physicians. In 2018, she received the Paul Calabresi K12 Award in Clinical Oncology for her research in Ewing sarcoma biology. Dr. Baker is board certified and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition, she is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.</p>
