The Montefiore AIDS Center has been chosen by the New York State Department of Health to receive the Commissioners Special Recognition Award for HIV/AIDS services, in recognition of its longstanding commitment to innovative, comprehensive, high quality and compassionate services for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and related complications.

The AIDS Center and its Center for Positive Living/ID Clinic lead the field of multi-specialty, multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care, serving as a local and national resource for patients living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS, as well as their families and caregivers. The Center receives more patient referrals each year than any other HIV specialty clinic in New York state.
