<p>Matthew Danzig, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Urology at Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore and Montefiore Einstein. A fellowship-trained pediatric urologist, Dr. Danzig treats congenital and functional problems of the genitourinary tract in children of all ages. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and genitourinary reconstruction.</p><p>After earning his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, Dr. Danzig earned his medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2015. He interned at the University of Michigan before completing a four-year urology residency at the University of Colorado in 2020, followed by a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2022.</p><p>Dr. Danzig&rsquo;s research interests include medical education and surgical training in pediatric urology. His research in the field of pediatric urology and other topics in urology has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings. Dr. Harel specializes in a comprehensive spectrum of pediatric urologic care, with a particular interest in reconstructive surgery, neurogenic and non-neurogenic voiding dysfunction, prenatal hydronephrosis and posterior urethral valves.</p><p>In 2003, Dr. Harel earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Brooklyn College, State University of New York (SUNY), as part of a combined BA/MD program in conjunction with SUNY Downstate. In 2007 she completed the program, receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree. She began her postdoctoral training with SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, completing an internship in general surgery in 2008 and a urology residency in 2012. She then undertook a pediatric urology fellowship at Connecticut Children&rsquo;s Medical Center, completing it in 2015.</p><p>Dr. Harel&rsquo;s research focuses on renal injury secondary to obstruction and infection, as well as clinical outcomes research regarding treatment of vesicoureteral reflux and pediatric varicocele.
