<p>David Weithorn, MD, is a general surgeon and Assistant Professor, Surgery at Montefiore Einstein. She also provides elective general surgical care.</p><p>After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology: Athletic Training from the University of New Hampshire in 2003, Dr. Siciliano spent five years between undergraduate and medical schools working as an Athletic Trainer and Medical Assistant. She then attended the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, from 2008 to 2012, earning her Doctor of Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral training with a residency in general surgery at Maine Medical Center in 2018, followed by a fellowship in surgical critical care at Duke University Medical Center in 2019. <p>Iyare Esemuede, MD, is an attending surgeon and Assistant Professor at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for the management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and diverticular disease. He also treats various anorectal diseases, such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and anal fistulas, and manages some general surgical conditions such as gallbladder disease and appendicitis.</p><p>From 1999 to 2005, Dr. Esemuede pursued a combined Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctorate program at Howard University, earning his biology degree in 2003 and his medical degree in 2005. His postdoctoral training began with his general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital. In 2009, he completed his colorectal research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and graduated from residency in 2012. <p>Francis B. Baccay, MD, is an attending surgeon at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Professor, Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Baccay&rsquo;s clinical focus centers on general and acute care surgery.</p><p>After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biology and Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Tulane University in 1989, Dr. Baccay earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in 1993. He then completed his general surgery internship in 1994 and his general surgery residency in 2000 at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Baccay remained at this institution to complete a trauma and surgical critical care fellowship in 2001.</p><p>Dr. Baccay&rsquo;s research focuses on surgical education curriculum design and assessment. His work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and oral and poster presentations. He is on the peer review board of the American College of Surgeons, where he is a submissions reviewer for the <em>Journal of the American College of Surgeons</em>. He is also on the peer review board for the Association of American Medical Colleges, where he is a submissions reviewer for MedEd Portal Publications and the Northeast Group on Education Affairs.</p><p>Dr. Baccay is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
