<p>Dr. Cuomo received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She went on to complete a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Medical Center and an orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. She then completed the Charles S. Neer, II, Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.</p><p>A prolific author and speaker, Dr. Cuomo has published more than 40 scientific articles and 20 book chapters on the diagnosis and management of shoulder disorders, and she has made over 150 national and international scientific presentations. She currently serves as secretary of the editorial board of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and is a reviewer for many orthopedic journals.</p><p>The first female orthopedic surgeon to be elected to the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Association, its first woman president, and the first woman ever to serve as president of any subspecialty society in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Frances Cuomo, MD, joined the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore in October 2016 as Chief of Shoulder and Elbow Service.</p>

<p>Dr. Lauren Crocco is an attending physician in orthopaedic surgery and Assistant Professor of orthopaedic surgery at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Crocco&rsquo;s clinical focus is on fractures and soft tissue injuries of the upper and lower extremities. These include fractures of the ankle, tibia, knee, femur, hip, wrist, forearm, elbow and humerus.&nbsp; She additionally manages soft tissue injuries of the extremities including sprains, strains and contusions. Her expertise also includes post traumatic deformity and infection.&nbsp; </p><p>After earning her Bachelor of Science in biology at Boston College in 2003, Dr. Crocco attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine for her medical school training. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2008 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.&nbsp; She began her post graduate training at Montefiore Einstein completing an orthopaedic surgery residency in 2013. She then went on to Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital to complete her Harvard orthopaedic trauma surgery fellowship. Finally, she completed a prestigious AO traveling trauma fellowship in Berlin, Germany in 2015. </p><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:'Calibri',sans-serif;">Dr. Crocco&rsquo;s research areas of interest focus on the management of geriatric hip fractures as well as resident education. <p>Dr. Campbell, Program Director for the fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Director of the Division of Neonatology at The Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore, conducts the Low Birth Weight Infant Evaluation and Assessment Program (LEAP). She focuses on perinatal care and health services delivery, psychosocial support interventions for mothers of premature babies, perinatal ethics and collaborative decision-making, outcomes for very low birth weight infants and newborn hearing screening. She is a co-chair of the Faculty Mentoring Work Group of the Education and Faculty Support Committee at Einstein and led a faculty development initiative within the Department of Pediatrics.</p><p>A member of the National March of Dimes Bioethics Committee and NICU Family Support Project Advisory Group, Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York City and Bronx Infant Mortality Review Committees and is a co-chair of the Bronx Regional Perinatal Forum. She is a member of the Greater New York Hospital Association Perinatal Safety Collaborative Advisory Group and the National Quality Forum Perinatal Collaborative and the New York State Obstetric and Neonatal Quality Collaborative, Neonatology Expert Workgroup. Dr. Campbell also serves on the New York State Palliative Care Education and Training Council. Dr. Campbell is the recipient of the 2000 Bronx Perinatal Consortium Distinguished Clinical Care Award, the 2005 New York State Perinatal Association L. Stanley James Award and the 2009 National Perinatal Association Stan Graven Award. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly and the New York Magazine in their lists of Best Doctors.</p>

<p>Yossef Blum, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a focus in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, as well the nonsurgical management of hip and knee arthritis. He specializes in less-invasive techniques, blood conserving options, advanced pain management, custom joint replacement, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Blum currently serves as Assistant Clinical Director of the Joint Replacement Center.</p><p>Dr. Blum received his B.A. at Yeshiva University, where he was class valedictorian. Dr. Blum received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore and a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery with a focus on knee and hip replacement.</p><p>In addition to presenting his findings at national meetings, Dr. Blum has authored several papers and chapters on his specialty. <p>Kathleen D. Asas, MD, MPH, is the Inpatient Clinical Informatics Lead at the Children&rsquo;s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She also serves as Medical Director for the CHAM 8 pediatric unit. Dr. Asas&rsquo;s clinical focus is on improving care and multidisciplinary communication for hospitalized children and effective care transitions.</p><p>In 2003, Dr. Asas received her Master of Public Health from Yale University School of Public Health with a special focus on microbial diseases. In 2007, she earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George&rsquo;s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Asas completed her pediatric internship at Stonybrook University in 2008, followed by her pediatric residency at Children&rsquo;s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2010.</p><p>Dr. Asas&rsquo;s research interests include clinical informatics and digital technology integration for pediatric care, education about electronic health records and data analytical tools and pediatric quality improvement and patient safety. <p>Carlos M. Alvarado, MD is an attending physician in orthopedic surgery and Assistant Professor at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Alvarado&rsquo;s clinical focus is on hip and knee replacement, including robotic-assisted procedures, custom-made implants, post-traumatic reconstruction and minimally invasive anterior approach total hip replacement.</p><p>After earning his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from the University of Chicago in 2003, Dr. Alvarado attended University of Michigan Medical School. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2008. He started his postgraduate training at New York University Langone Medical Center Hospital for Joint Diseases, completing a general surgery internship in 2009 and a four-year orthopedic surgery residency in 2013. He then went to Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital/Harvard Medical School for a total joint replacement/adult reconstruction fellowship.</p><p>Dr. Alvarado&rsquo;s research investigates patient outcomes in revision and conversion total joint replacement as well as technology in hip and knee replacement including robotic surgery and custom-made implants and cost containment in hip and knee reconstruction.
