<p>Samuel J. Rednor, DO, is Director of Wellness, Critical Care and Assistant Professor, Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is nephrology and critical care.</p><p>After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013, Dr. Rednor completed his residency in internal medicine at Southampton Hospital in 2016, where he was Chief Resident for one year. He then completed his renal fellowship at Montefiore in 2018, where he was Chief Renal Fellow during his last year. Dr. Rednor went on to complete an additional fellowship at Montefiore in critical care, which he completed in 2019.</p><p>Dr. Rednor’s research focus is in acute kidney injury (AKI), cardiac arrest, and intubation. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has given multiple lectures and presentations.</p><p>Dr. Rednor is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST). In 2018, Dr. Rednor won the Sharon R. Silbiger Teaching Award for excellence in teaching and in recognition as Outstanding Fellow of the Year from Einstein.</p>
Puja Patel
<p>Puja Patel, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Associate Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Patel's clinical focus is pediatric epilepsy, although she also sees patients with general pediatric neurological issues, including headaches, movement disorders, sleep concerns and developmental delay.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in biology from Barnard College in 2005, Dr. Patel earned her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in 2009. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2011. Following this, Dr. Patel came to Montefiore Einstein to continue her medical training, completing her pediatric neurology residency in 2014, a clinical neurophysiology fellowship in 2015 and a behavioral neurosciences fellowship in 2016.</p><p>Dr. Patel’s research focuses on clinical seizure prediction in the pediatric population. She has been co-investigator in several clinical drug trials investigating new anti-seizure medications. Her work has been shared through invited presentations and peer-reviewed journals, books, chapters, review articles and abstracts. She is a reviewer for scientific journals, including <em>Epilepsy Research, the Journal of Neurological Sciences and Pediatric Neurology</em>, among others.</p><p>Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology. She is a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Epilepsy Society.</p>
Raminder K. Parihar
Dr. Parihar is focused on expanding the DBS to improve the quality of life of patients with tremors, Parkinson's disease, and dystonia.
Dr. Parihar is interested in studying gait disorders and working to find advanced therapies to improve them.

<p>Raminder Parihar, MD, is Director, Neuromodulation at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Neurology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Parihar evaluates and treats patients with different movement disorders. She is also largely involved in evaluating patients for candidacy for deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery for the treatment of different movement disorders and initiating and following up stimulation programming.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from the City College of New York in 2007, Dr. Parihar completed her Doctor of Medicine at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 2009. She then came to Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she completed an internship in medicine in 2010 and her residency in adult neurology in 2013, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Parihar completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Harvard/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2014.</p><p>Dr. Parihar’s research focuses on gait disorders and how they can predict cognitive impairment in patients with Parkinson's disease. She also studies the impact of deep brain stimulation in improving the quality of life in patients with movement disorders. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed book chapters and publications, and she has shared her work through lectures and platform and abstract presentations.</p><p>Dr. Parihar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Movement Disorders Society and the American Medical Association (AMA). In 2023, Dr. Parihar was a recipient of the Marquis Who's Who in America Award.</p>

<p>Dr. Ann Nguyen is a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist who is a clinician specialist in neonatal medicine. She obtained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her training in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Following an additional year as Pediatric Chief Resident, Dr. Nguyen completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Mattel Children’s Hospital, UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include intestinal function and the treatment of fungal infections in infants. Dr. Nguyen is a certified instructor for the AAP-AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program. </p>
Sheri L. Nemerofsky
<p>Sheri L. Nemerofsky, MD, FAAP, is Director, Newborn Services and Associate Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Nemerofsky’s clinical focus centers on newborn care and respiratory and nutritional needs.</p><p>After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Muhlenberg College in 1994, Dr. Nemerofsky earned her Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten in 1999. She was a pediatric dermatology research associate at the University of Miami until 2000, before completing her pediatrics internship at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001. Dr. Nemerofsky remained at this institution to complete her pediatrics residency in 2003. Following this, she completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2006.</p><p>Dr. Nemerofsky’s research focuses on quality improvement, safety and healthcare disparities. She has shared her work through numerous national and international presentations and peer- reviewed publications. Dr. Nemerofsky is also a reviewer for the <em>American Journal of Perinatology</em>, the <em>American Journal of Preventive Medicine</em>, the <em>Journal of Perinatology and Pediatrics</em>.</p><p>Dr. Nemerofsky is board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association, the Society for Pediatric Research and the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee of Coding and Nomenclature. In 2023, Dr. Nemerofsky won the Award for Outstanding Poster Presentation from Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and Second Place Abstract Presentation at the 2023 Montefiore Wakefield Interprofessional Research and Quality Improvement Symposium.</p>
Renee Monderer

Renee Monderer, MD, is Chief of Neurology at the Weiler Division of Montefiore and Assistant Clinical Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical specialty is in treating sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, parasomnias, and sleep-related movement disorders.
For her research, Dr. Monderer is involved in multiple clinical studies investigating new medications for the treatment of narcolepsy and other hypersomnia's. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, and book chapters

She attended Staten Island University Hospital at the start of her postdoctoral training, completing a year-long internship in general medicine in 2003. Dr. Monderer then came to Montefiore Medical Center to complete a three-year residency in neurology in 2006, followed by a year-long sleep medicine fellowship in 2007.</p><p>For her research, Dr. Monderer is involved in multiple clinical studies investigating new medications for the treatment of narcolepsy and other hypersomnias. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and book chapters.</p><p>Dr. Monderer is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.</p>
Haleh Moazen
Mark J. Milstein
Dr. Milstein focuses on inpatient neurological consultation and outpatient neuromuscular evaluation with a special focus on myasthenia gravis.
Dr. Milstein’s research is focused on medical education, unique neurological presentations, and neuromuscular conditions, including myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
<p>Mark J. Milstein, MD, FAAN, is Director of the Adult Neurology Residency Training Program at Montefiore and Associate Professor of Neurology and Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical work focuses primarily on neurohospitalist and neuromuscular medicine / electromyography (EMG), as well as general neurology.</p><p>After earning a degree in Biology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, Dr. Milstein attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 2001. Dr. Milstein completed five years of postgraduate training at Montefiore from 2001-2006, including his internship in medicine, residency in neurology and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology. Dr. Milstein was Chief Resident in the final year of his neurology training.</p><p>Dr. Milstein’s research focuses on medical education, inpatient neurology and neuromuscular medicine. His work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, and includes original research, review articles, and books. Dr. Milstein has been an invited speaker at a number of national lectures and presentations.</p><p>At the 15th Annual Doctors Recognition Day in 2018, Dr. Milstein received the Peer to Peer Excellence in Medicine Award from the Bronx County Medical Society. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the New York State Neurological Society. He holds leadership positions in the AAN and the New York County Medical Society (NYCMS).</p><p>Dr. Milstein is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.</p>
Michael Miksa
Pediatric critical care
<p>Physician-Scientist, Michael Miksa, MD, PhD received his medical degree from the Free University of Berlin in Germany and his academic degree magna cum laude from The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He completed his pediatric residency training at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate, a critical care fellowship at Yale and had worked in the pediatric emergency department for the Boston Children’s Hospital.</p><p>Dr. Miksa presented his work at several meetings both nationally and abroad and is Site Investigator for NEAR4KIDS, a multi-center quality improvement study to limit adverse events during intubations.</p>
