Professional Interests

Dr. Ortin Peralta (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor at the School-Clinical Child Psychology Program, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore/Einstein (PRIME). She is the director of the MIND Lab at Ferkauf and a member of PRIME Center of Health Equity.

Dr. Ortin Peralta completed her training as a clinical psychologist at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, Spain. In 2010, she was awarded a two-year pre-doctoral fellowship from the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation at the NYS Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Medical Center. Shortly after earning her doctorate from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in 2015, she joined the Laboratory for the Study of Youth Cognition and Suicide at Hunter College (CUNY), where she completed her postdoctoral training.

Dr. Ortin Peralta has received funding as Principal Investigator from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD). She is also a co-investigator on a R01/RF1 grant that examines cognitive and biobehavioral processes of suicidal behavior among adolescents and a supplement aimed to examine the content of suicidal ideation in children.
